Default WTB cheap laptop..... Possiblly to box?

Wife finally agreed to get a laptop for our many road trips. Just wondering if there is a cheap option out there that could 5box with everything on low. I know basically nothing about laptops so not sure if I'm even in the ballpark, but is there any way to find this option for ~$600? Anything more than that just won't be worth it, and I'll prob just end up getting a $300 machine for just web surfing.

    So, am I dreaming?

I doubt you can find a machine that cheap to run 5. I just purchased one and it cost $1900. You can get cheaper ones but I doubt you can find one with a 560 video card for $600.

So is a 560 pretty much the consensus pick for minimum laptop graphics card these days?

Obviously settings and CPU matter, but are people generally happy with their 560's. I'm in the same boat, wrt user needs as the OP so this is good info. Thanks Pinot.

I purchased an Asus K53TA this past summer for $450 and upgraded the ram to 8 gigs for $25 more. I tweaked the settings a bit to turn off crossfire, and lowered the CPU voltage a bit and locking at 1.8 or 2.0 ghz to keep heat down, but I was able to 5 box with it. Everything was set to Low except I had distance up two notches for my main. I didn't try any huge scale PVP as all my extra accounts at the time were Starter Editions, but for questing it was fairly smooth. The only time I had noticeable lag for one of my slaves was when visiting Orgrimmar. However that may have been more from my connection being bad than the laptop itself. Plus I was using an external monitor for my main at 1920 by 1080 instead of the laptop's native screen. Also I had the FPS on the slaves manually capped at 15 fps.

When trying it with 4 boxing I ran my main on Fair with the view distance to high. Slaves on Low, and it ran smooth for everything I did.

Sometimes newegg gets them back in stock for around $400-$420

Generally though for a laptop, the current AMD A6/A8 series with a dedicated GPU are the best value I've seen for performance to price if you need a cheap machine.
