    Default Leveling discussion

For those you of that have duel-boxed a set to 50, can you give us an idea of what route you took? Quested 90% with a dash of FPs..did you solo ( box ) the FPs? How often did you do heroics with other people? etc..

I have only boxed a tad, two SCs to 17, two BHs to 23, then I left one BH at 23 and leveled my Merc to 32. Now I regret being lazy( do to the follow bug) and want to get my other BH(PT) caught up and then finish leveling them together.

I will admit that I get sidetracked and spend a lot of time and money leveling crew skills or exploring. I spent an entire afternoon going around and getting datacrons, something i advise waiting until you hit 50. Easy datacrons to get to are a no brainer ( they give stats and exp ) but they will slow you down, some of them take a long time to get to, even if you know right where they are ( you have wait for some floating object to navigate the entire area, jump on and take a long slow ride to the datatcron and hope you don't fall off or miss the jump )

Im going to try and run some FPs with my BH duo ( pt and merc). I ran Hammer Station with my, then, 28 merc and my 23 PT. It seemed like good exp, even though the mobs were grey to my merc. That might help me catch them up. Any tips and advice?

    I duoed up a sin/sorc set first. With 400 maxed out sw/art/arch/slicing.

I did almost all normal planet quests (skipped a few bonus series), I did do heroics up to 40 where I realized they didn't matter at the rate I was going and turned into a big time waste. I never grouped with anyone except to help out a few friends with their quests. I did spend some time soloing a few flashpoints just for personal enjoyment, but learned the gear wasn't worth it at the pace I was leveling. I almost always did the SI series twice with both toons (tank and heal spec, it was faster to do instead of solo).

I'm currently working on a merc/sniper duo taking the above into account and it seems to be going fine level / content wise.

Edit: from 30+ I leaned it was good to have your inactive companions out running missions to collect mats. When I hit 50 I had enough mats to lvl up to 400 on each and some left over to supply other folks. I'm currently doing that on my new team as credits permit.

I was wondering about skipping heroic quests.. i think even the heroic+2 ( easy enough ) just take too much time to complete, compared to just just completing the easy normal quests. Next set I will try this. ( and the rest of the levels for my BHs )

Questing will be the most efficient way otherwise you run the risk of becoming cash strapped, especially since slicing is no longer very profitable via missions.

I leveled up my commando's through a combination of grinding and questing and the grinding was only marginally faster than questing but I made no money. Ultimately grinding ended up costing me nearly an entire day of leveling time as I back tracked to catch up on my story so I could finish out 50 on Ilum. Still managed server first though ;p

I'm doing two sentinels now, money is not an issue. They just hit level 35 and I started them the night before last. They are 100% pure grind mode with decked out ship droids to heal.

So after you level a set and can finance some alts gear ( robots ) just grind? so class quests and mob slaying? or you mean grind quests? Did you skip heroic quests?

Grinding elite(gold) mobs in heroic quests/areas. You're going to be averaging a quest worth of xp every few minutes just killing golds like that.
