    Default Shaman Elemental Macro Question

I'm using the elemental shaman macro from the sticky above for my 5 box shaman team, and some times with pairs, or even three at a time in the new 5 mans. My dps is kind of low while doing it. Could some one please explain its proper use and methods in which to tweak it to work with my gear stats (like haste) so I can even self test. Was it made to be turned on and off at times during the fight?

Also any other pointers or tips, or additional macros for elemental 5 boxing successfully in raid finder and 5 mans would be welcome.

Thank you for your time and consideration community.

I started with Mercurio's 2-step macro for my Elemental Shamans, but ended up tweaking it manually by testing on dummies. The best thing I can suggest is to do the same. The easiest way I found was to play one toon by itself and closely watch things like how many charges you have, Flame Shock timer/cooldown, Earth Shock cooldown, etc.

If you don't care about the hit cap for raiding, you can just reforge everything to haste (or mastery if you already have haste).
If you want to optimize for raiding stats, I recommend askmrrobot.com.

Couple suggestions would be to also stagger some of your enhancement abilities to increase your haste/SP etc...

    example;

    I normally do

Ruth Glad Badge of dominanace---- +2029 SP for 20 secs, 2 min CD
Elemental Mastery ----------------------- increase spell damage by 15% and haste by 20 for 15 seconds, 3 minute CD
berzerking (troll racial) ------------------ 20% casting speed for 10 secs, 2 min CD
Lifeblood (herbalism) ------------------- +480 haste for 20 secs, 2 min CD
Vic Glad Badge of dominanace------ +1794 SP for 20 secs, 2 min CD

So if you can macro those to not advance for 10 or 15 seconds you can increase your SP and haste by a boat load for a total of around 50 seconds out of every 2 minutes or so.

My burst goes through the roof when I mash my button and get haste capped + huge spell power buff + elemental mastery going. Easily able to pull down 20K+ DPS on the raid training boss in mostly PVP gear. Of not your gladiator badges have an internal cooldown so both won't activate at same time. Alot of PVP elementals will use two of these badges vice a trinket for movement removal in BGs. There is a 20 second ICD on the gladiator +spell power ability so do one.

Now something to also recall is with more haste your sequences get off on timing. So factor in more lightning bolts or chainlightning as fillers or add another second or three to your reset=combat or target/20 line.

I have been going away from haste and forging everything to mastery. Haste really screws up my macros and makes periods where they are stuck waiting on a shock CD. Mastery is a great stat for ELE so its not like you are really gimping yourself and the added bonus of not screwing up your macro is awesome.

The one big advantage of Haste over Mastery, is that Mastery is your offensive spells while Haste is also your healing spells.
Not saying Haste is the way to go, or that it isn't.

Well in raid finder he shouldn't be healing at all. If he wants to do 5 mans with just shaman he will though.

From a solo players perspective, haste is currently a better stat than mastery until really high gear levels; and then mastery overtakes it from haste. But they are really close together and based on your current levels of haste/mastery, it's very possible that simcraft would put mastery ahead for you, and the next upgrade haste would become better again. But they are not mutually exclusive, you need both. So going for a pure mastery build and avoid haste gear (or the other way around) is definitely not the way forward.

As a rule of thumb, with spell haste totem; 1423 & 2781 are the haste points where you gain an extra flame shock tick. That is w/o EM/bloodlust/dark intent, and for non goblins. (this is the spreadsheet that covers haste for flameshock ticks).

So basically favouring mastery over haste as a boxer ain't bad at all.
