Default which class is the better AOE tank

I give up. I am going to level a tank.

So what's the "wow" paladin/dk equivalent here. Something that can grab 4-5 mobs at the same time

    sounds like power tech ?

Assassin or PT are probably the best aoe tanks.

Assassin has dark charge which is an aoe attack with a lifetap component. PT gets some other aoe stuff.

PT has the most AE attacks. They can pull with Death from Above, Explosive Dart and Missile Blast, Flame Thrower and Flame Sweep for close range.

Assassins are squishy tanks from my experience. How are they at 50 Merc?
Currently 5 Boxing 5 Protection Paladins on Whisperwind Alliance
The Power of Five!!! ( short video )

In August/September Assassins were lagging behind Juggers by about 10% total mitigation. Assassins use a slightly different mitigation system from Jugs/PTs due to their shielding mechanic. This left them short of mitigation compared to the other two. I can't imagine that this stayed the same but I haven't really checked it out to be honest.

I would expect that a 10% difference in mitigation would be addressed. To tank however an Assassin has to run its tank charge which gives it a large armor modifier.

Assassins and PTs are slightly different in their AOE mechanics. PTs for example tend to run PBAOE, GTAOE or CAOE(cone). Assassins on the other hand have the more typical target based aoe that hits other stuff based on a radius around the target. I
