    Default Issue with game lighting

Not a multibox issue exactly, but I'm stumped and figured some here might know what is going on.

Started playing in early release all looked good. But after they down time period and server maintenance before the actual release something changed.

Things just seem darker, but where it looks odd is on my characters face, sometimes it is almost like their face are dirty because of lack of ambient light. I hadn't changed any settings (well maybe more tree detail). But it certainly wasn't like this the first few days. Some times the faces almost look like clay, kind of dark with an odd glow.

The cut scenes typically look much better. If I had to say what was going on, it almost seems like the ambient light is somehow turned off (or mostly off) so if I don't have direct light on my face it looks wrong.

Any thoughts? I wonder if there is some flag I can set in the client_defaults file that would help out with this.

I know it is a minor thing, but it is kind of buggin me

Thanks for any and all help.

Im runing it on a LED monitor. Perhaps there is an issue... I dont see it.

FYI, years ago, I had a LCD monitor that was slowly going darker and darker... I trashed it, and got a new one for $85. Im sure LCD monitors are cheap now.

    Turn up Yo Gamma Gamma

slowly turn up your brightness on the monitor and the video card control panel.

Ya i tried turning up gamma it helped a little bit, but makes things look washed out and/or the face will get weird glowy areas if i go to much.

It could be I never really noticed before when I was on drumond Kass, (which seems to be a dark /rainy area) as I was too busy looking at new things, and like I said the lighting is always different for the conversations.

I did update my drivers just in case,

Anyone have a list of all the graphics flags/settings for the config file? Maybe there is something there I can tweak.

    Thanks all for the suggestions.

You specifically mentioned the face several times as that being the main difference. Are you ranking up in Dark side points? That makes my chars face/eyes darker, and gives that dirty look around the mouth.

(you can disable this in settings so dark side doesn't affect your appearance)

Nope I'm light side so that isn't it, but that would have been funny. ude you are all evil!"

I think I will just have to let it go,

Adjust gamma helped a wee bit but not much, as it makes everythign else look washed out.

If I face my character into the light source or sun it looks mostly okay, but if not can look odd. Like I said it is almost as if the ambient light source is too low, so the only light being used is from the light sources which means things get really really dark if I'm not facing one or in a shadow. This all looked fine before the official launch( played early release).

    I'll live I'm sure hehe.

Though I still would like to see a listing for all the valid fields/variables for the config file.
