I don't box anymore, but this is in the vein, and I imagine some of you know about this stuff.
First, anyone know anything about this?
I'm currently laptop shopping, and this is very intriguing. Since I've mostly gotten out of gaming, I don't really need the rig I'm on now, but I'd be so lost without my monitors while at home. What I'm looking at would probably be the laptop display, a vertically mounted 22" for browsing/papers, the other for various apps/audio editing, and an undetermined TV through HDMI. First, does anyone know if the ViDock is fast-ish? Most currently existing options are slow as tar, but mostly use USB 2.0. Second, would a 256mb 8600GT be adequate for 1080p out via HDMI, and general tasks/possibly games on the main display? Nothing fancy, I mostly play Starcraft or Arcanum lately.
Lastly, is there any trick to mounting the monitor vertically, or do they basically all have the same 4 screw mounting, and I just turn it on its side?
Any possible alternatives would be appreciated as well.
Danke.
