    Default Heirloom Gear

Just as an interesting note on comparing leveling with or without heirloom gear. I got a friend to try mulitboxing this week and once he hit 20 and decided to continue I threw two of my own toons in to our party, one at 16 and one at 18. I put Head, Chest, Back and Shoulders heirloom gear on both of them while my friend doesn't have any. Again my friend was already at 20. By 30 I had passed him and currently he is at 54 and my guys are at 59. The spread would actually be worse since I'm now forced to keep my toons in lower dungeons longer than I would like to. In fact it will be hard to compare them after this point since I will really be slowing down the progression of the team with heirloom gear, focusing on my friends lower level toons. I spent a bit of cash and JP to get 4 sets of cloth gear to allow me to gear any class with a full set. Being able to transfer to any account under my battle.net email was obviously key, I had originaly thought I wouldn't be able to do that. I will say my toons look a little retarded as hunters and pallys running around with the cloth gear on them however it really does make a huge difference and I really dont' care about their gear until they hit 80.

Heirlooms+ max leveled guild= nice non RaF leveling speed. I mean they made the trip from 1-80 I lot easier now, even without any exp bonuses.

If the focus is on your friend, more so than the toons you are leveling with him...

You could always remove your heirlooms, assuming you are a strong enough party to complete whatever the content is.
Either that, or actually boost them a little with a higher level toon; several runs through Ramparts (or whatever dungeon he can enter) should close the gap in experience fairly quickly... plus give him some gear/cloth, etc.

Yah that is a good point I could remove the gear to keep them close but I'm not to worried about it. I ended up just swapping out the higher level toons with another set of toons I had about 4 levels below his, and by the end of the night I was two levels ahead again : ) It'll work out.

Just as a note, I think they made a few things easier with patch 4.3 for running dungeons in the outlands. I dont' remember the quest giver in helfire ramparts or the blood furnace being at the entrance, same with the slave pen. Each have three quests available at the entrance. Went from 50 to 67 last night, hopefully we will make it to mid 70 tonight.

It has been a little interesting... the Chromatic Carapace dropped (Not mount as I had originally put... came in on the front seat of the short bus) from UBRS and I thought I would be nice and let my friend have it... then, when we got back to SW I asked him to pull it out to see what it looked like... and... he had already sold it.... to a vendor.... far enough back it wouldn't show up in the buyback tab.... This is what dropped... I'm glad you asked because I actually went back to google it... turns out it was not a mount but drops from the mount. I must have read the wowhead info box wrong. Turns out it is required to make this:

That's not a mount. It's a reagent for some old school quest armor
