Trails cannot trade nor recive mail, which means if you want an item on a character it will only be from loot.
I'd suggest Vanilla WoW if anything. It's not much more than a single month of pay anymore, and you will get a month included. Unless you want to do stuff like roll Blood elves, Draenei or make a jewelcrafter. Theres a ways to go for hitting 58 for a multi-boxing team.
