I have a few tips about SP= Social Points and AP= Affection Points

You can run Flashpoints solo, when you out level them, to make mad companion affection points. The first flashpoint on each side, lvl 10ish, have TONs of conversations, and each conversation you have has a lot of choices. Resulting in a lot of possible affection gain and social point gain, You only gain SPs if you are in a group.. So us two-boxers can maximize both our APs and SPs by questing, because we will always be grouped and have our companions with us. Most players will solo most the game and only gain small amounts of SPs due to not grouping that much. When you complete the FP, you get the APs and SPs.

If you are wanting to get the max amount of APs per conversation.. you can pick a convo choice.. if it gives no gain, you can hit escape to start the conversation over. Eventually you will be able to choose the conversations that will gain AP easier, as you will know what type of comments your companion likes.

SPs=Social points. You get these while grouped with at least one other player. You gain access to more items as you level up your SP. One example, at level 2 SP you can buy your companion a skimpy slave girl outfit ( if your companion is a chick ) It looks like the one all the slave/servant girls are wearing in the cantinas. There are a wide variety of social items, mostly cosmetic or fun items.

SPs and AP can be ignored and have no ill effect to your in game experience. If you choose to be an evil BH, for example, than your first companion ( Mako ) will hate you. So you will gain a lot less APs with her. There are a few evil choices she will like though. She likes you to be greedy, but nice! Make your conversation choices accordingly.
