Default New to boxing in Eve

    Hey guys,

I haven't ventured into the world of Eve in over a year now and was looking at making a comeback with 5 or so accounts. I have experience running 5 accounts on WoW with ISBoxer. How much of a difference is it to running multiple accounts on Eve?

Also anyone know of a good video guide on setting up accounts? I'm looking at starting out with a team of 5 for high sec mining to build up some isk while training for some BS class ships to run missions etc. Any good friendly corps that will be generally active and helpfull for me to join up with/talk to?

    Thanks in advance,
    Altha

Eve client uses pretty much the same amount of resources as a WoW client, maybe slightly less memory and a bit less intensive, but you can really ramp the gfx down in that game just like WoW. However, I'd leave at least one of them maxed out because the game is beautiful.

I'm not aware of any active multiboxing corp. I know a few multiboxers have their own corp, and that is the route that I went. It's incredibly easy to create your own, and isn't retarded like WoW requiring signatures.

Eve is different to multibox in that you rarely ever use your keyboard, it's very mouse intensive - there are hardly any keyboard mappings in that game, a damn shame. But you'll get used to it and some people have had success with ISboxer and video streaming/repeater regions. I just multiboxed the old fashioned way (no software whatsoever) when I mined and it worked fine.

If you can afford it, I would get run as many accounts as you can afford. In a perfect setting I would have a group of miners and a group of missioners, all on separate accounts training at the same time. Since you can't train skills on multiple characters, you would have to alternate skills on your miners and missioners.

If you go to the bottom of the EVE sub-forum and change the setting from "last 2 weeks" to all time or something, you'll find a bunch more threads. One of them that might help you is: http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=45642

Shows some ISBoxer video feed setups that a few of us are using to good effect. Good luck!

Thanks for the help there guys. I would love to be able to run more than 5 accounts but first I need to be making the ISK so that it doesnt cost me a fortune every moth for subs. How long do you rekkon with mining to be able to be rolling in enough ISK that I will be able to plex it all for time?

A year or so. You really need a maxed orca pilot as a booster, and you really need maxed hulk miners to make enough money in highsec to pay for plex. Also plan on mining everyday for hours.

This guide is the one I followed:
