Ya, I tried the focus assist. It constantly drops, cut scenes, zoning, quest dialogue.

I went back to the target of target method.

Thanks all for confirming the focus retention issues & inability to set focus weren't just on my PC. I like it when it works and currently, like pavlov's dog, I am resetting it each time I alt-tab to the slave client... I do that anyway each time my main walks out of instances because that, in and of itself, breaks follow. I am ok now though it is a pain. While I like the focus target method (when not reset) and have work-arounds memorized, likely, when I have time I will reset all of my key mappings to be the "old fashoned" way...

Update: I learned that I can consistently set focus on my duo's slave by clearing my target first (pressing esc one or two times) and then F2 then Alt-F (from memory). I also noticed that if my mouse cursor is on the left side of the window scrolling the mousewheel up/down scrolls chat and if I have it on the right side it does the 3rd person view pull back/in... Clearing & then setting focus seems consistent when the cursor is on the right side...

ok..lame, i have to retype this whole thing again cause the forum decided to log me out =(

anyways, i had the same issues too. few things i found out

    1) alt button is spotty when using isboxer and tor at the same time...
    2) character that invites is group member 1 (for target party member 1) I rebound this to my F3 Key
    3) I rebound the basic ALT + F (creates a focus target) to CTRL + SHIFT + F12 and mapped it to my G3 key

now, after leaving or entering a zone, or after cut scenes i just hit my follow button (i remapped this to CTRL + SHIFT + F3) it targets my main and then I follow it up with the G3 button and im all set. I havent had any issues with this since I left the Alt button behind

It's not spotty, it just requires the Hold option be enabled on your Mapped Key. (This is a game-specific issue)

That is mentioned here under Known Issues http://isboxer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=1781
    * Your Key Maps may require the Hold option, especially if they include a modifier (Alt, Shift, or Ctrl)
