My guess as to the solution would be to disable Crossfire and apparently that cannot be done on a 6990. Fact of the
matter is... you shouldn't be running your clients on Ultra anyway... it's complete overkill. Also, If you've enabled
Multisampling you can expect to bring your system to a crawl.
There have been many posts in this hardware forum that have warned users about dual-GPU cards and their side
effects towards multiboxing. Hardware sites are fine for reviews and benchmarks but, those charts don't exactly
reflect results you will get while multiboxing. Review sites don't open up multiple copies of Battlefield 3 or Crysis 2
and test the videos cards. They open up one fullscreen version of the game and do their benchmarking that way. So
while a dual-GPU card looks nice on a chart for a single fullscreen game, in reality they're not as good as a single-GPU
card that will need to power multiple games in windowed mode.
I don't know the answer to that. If you can eliminate any software as the culprit then your next bet is to start looking
at your hardware. I'm not going to say "yes, spend more money on another card" when you may actually have your
video settings cranked up too high or your CPU affinity set incorrectly.
