2x 560Ti's in SLI are actually faster than a single stock-clocked GTX 580 in most cases and I heard there is
actually a new 560Ti coming out at the end of this month that's going to be on par with the GTX 570 (same
amount of CUDA cores or something). nVidia did the same thing with the 460's last year to match the 470's.
Technically speaking... my SLI tests did work but, I didn't test it thoroughly. What I found super annoying
with SLI while trying to multibox is that the mouse cursors flicker like crazy when repeater was enabled.
This statement is definitely on a per use basis. Speaking from a non-multiboxing single game client point-
of-view, as an example I was able to crank up TERA Online's multisampling to 32x and actually play the
game smoothly with my 3GB GTX 580's in SLI. Doing so required about (from what I remember) about 2GB
of video RAM and something like 70% GPU usage (sorry for the estimates this was months ago when I was
making my last TERA video). I wasn't able to achieve smooth results like that w/o the cards in SLI.
There are also those people that like to play games using nVidia Surround or ATI's Eyefinity which easily
increases the RAM usage above 1.5GB if the eye candy is applied. Even 2560x1600 resolutions on a single
30" can exceed 1.5GB of video RAM.
I can't wait for 28nm Kepler either but, I think I might just invest in a 3rd 3GB GTX 580 to help hold me over
for an extra year or so until the 7xx series. When the 6xx series comes out I can hopefully pick up a third
5xx card for cheap.

Yea, i was talking about the games i have played, or will play. I use a 24inch screen, 1920,1080 res. but have cranked BF3.. Skyrim ( with enhanced mods ) Crysis2 all up and have not noticed any FPS dips below 40ish? I have been tempted to buy http://www.asus.com/Display/LCD_Monitors/VG278H/ .. and i know I would need sli for that. Just not sure i would use the 3D that much. I don't think ill ever do the multi monitor thing either.

i later updated to a 6950 and its a great card my ram/cpu let me down maxxing up the settings but av yet to use the full card (in wow)

and Graphic card is a ati 6990
however this should've been an overkill, my wow clients cannot run on ultra ...
1 on ultra and others on low, and still have small issues of lag..
isboxer is set at round robin for the processors
but still i dont have a freakin clue how to get my stuff on ultra :S if this setup aint working then i have no idea what to do ..

Pretty sure that's a dual GPU card. Dual GPU video cards don't work well with multiboxing... we've been saying this for years.
nVidia lets you turn off SLI on their dual GPU cards and, as far as I know, ATi does not have an option to turn off Crossfire.
Also, playing on Ultra x5 is complete and utter overkill.

Apparently you can turn off Crossfire... see post #3:

Still he says for the 6990 there isnt an option ..Under the Performance Tab, there is a "AMD CrossFireX" page. If you were running say 2, 3 or 4 6970s, you can pick how many gpu's you want to run in crossfire, or just use one GPU. This was neat for a game like Black Ops which ran ok with 2 GPUs but *** the bed with 3. With a 6990 there is no options whatsoever. None.
