Multibocks, you think I'm trolling you? Seriously? You're angry about the proposed change yet your position as to why appears to be based on a premise ("I should get gear that makes me god-like in PVP vs people that don't have my gear") that just makes it less likely you'll have anyone to blow up. I originally thought your complaint was about the MMR system being broken in general but you seem to only have a problem with PVP when it's broken in favor of your opponents.

Just to be clear I don't enjoy killing defenseless people.

what's the point in that? PvE you can get heroic gear with better stats. PvP you get colors yay

This comment was two posts after and (I presume) in response to this:

I like the change. Except bring back the the ladder steping for acquiring "arena gear". And when i say arena gear.....gear with cosmetic changes only.

1200 - different color chest
1400 - different color hands
1600 - different color helm
.....and so on
2200 - then you could get the upgraded weapons

But weapons would be the ONLY thing you could get(points too obviously) that effected stats from doing arena. It wouldnt make me mad either if they raised the weapon rating.

Which leads me to believe you only want gear from arenas if it gives you a material advantage over your normal opponents. Thus my question, which was basically, "How is having the best gear stats by a wide margin only available from highly-rated arenas challenging or fun unless you just like beating up 'defenseless' opponents?" especially when you admit you hardly play anyone in 5's now anyway.

I'm not picking on you personally or your motivations. Everyone likes to feel all-powerful and blow people up.

If that's not what you were complaining about, then maybe this is an ESL thing or I'm just totally misunderstanding why you're angry about the change(s).

Because it feels good to see your stats go up, having my character a different color does nothing for me. Nothing more to it than that, but feel free to pick apart my comments more; I prepared them all on a napkin.

edit: It's nice to see that new high crit, new health pool (150k sweet!), stuff like that. I regularly face opponents with the same gear so no I'm not picking on the little guys. I don't attack people, I defend myself. But I'm sure some internet sleuth will come up with one example where I attacked the poor defenseless 80 year old lady with mace on her birthday.

That troll comment was to Cmeche and Valkry, because their differing opinions were not voiced in a constructive manner. I don't mind your debate. If yoiu look back I even made a comment towards that but it was eaten by the mods. Not that cmeche's comment was changed. Flag the person who threw the last punch and all that.

btw. i met a 393 !! (incl.dragonwrath) PVE equiped mage in the 5v5 pool the last week for some games.
took one char out in 3 sec alone, 50k crits on 4k resi.. couldn't believe my logs first until i looked him up in armory.

QQ because you will not be the only one with the best gear (though how you would earn it 500 rating behind is beyond me when even you disbelieve you can improve) to pwn noobs (you say you dont want to yet you are angry all the lower rating people wont be queueing up in arena anymore) does not warrant constructive feedback.

Seriously, mudflation was bad enough with WotLK (even though its been an awesome expansion), but cata seriously messed up. So it's a good thing they are trying to fix their mistakes of the past.

You will just have to deal with the fact that Blizzard are giving people who don't like arena, a way to avoid it. Maybe you should go to the suggestions forums over at Blizzard and try to help brainstorm - a way for arenas to work without relying on massive amounts of participants - with others who care about arena as much as you.

It's what I did slash have been doing for a while now. Except that my suggestion (not original but was showing my support for the idea) was to give CP to random BGs. I guess Blizzard does listen sometimes.

Gotcha. Well, let's just hope they pull it off and things improve in the BG/Arena space. I have my doubts but if they hit the right notes, they might actually start seeing some excitement again (beyond Kung Fu Panda, that is).

This could be compared to nerfs to PVE instances overtime.

Blizzard put resources into a arena set for example, or PvP set if you would like to call it that.
Now, only 5% of the communitybase (values made up obviously, just for example) get to get full set.
This leads to a problem for blizzard since they want as many people as possible to experience the game they have created.
In this case, i think its a good idea and you can compare it with the PVE part since, you will have your full gear in the end of the season = nothing unfair.
