Kinda wondering this myself. WOW has traditionally run a sort of roller-coaster, where for a while it seems as if Blizzard is promoting the stratification of the player base, then they go to the opposite extreme. WotLK was the first expansion where they skipped the first step and opened up the candy store for everyone, so maybe people really believed that they'd do things differently with Cataclysm.

But Blizzard has ALWAYS been about providing more access for more players. Even Vanilla WOW was a much more accessible game when compared to games like Everquest. Blizzard has been very very keen on making it pretty easy to keep up with the Joneses. I don't understand why, every time they hand out more candy, people seem to be shocked. "OMG they're making it too easy for everyone to get stuff!" Yeah, that's kind of what they've been doing for a good five years now.

The only thing stranger than that reaction will be the inevitable reaction from the self-styled "casuals" who will no doubt complain bitterly about how long it will take to get all the gear, and demanding that Blizzard remove the pre-requisites for weapons and shoulders because they "pay our $15 too!!!!"

I don't like this change because it diminishes my chances of pwning random players in 2 seconds. There are still very much players without a conquest weapon or with a weapon but only few pieces of ruthless gear running on random bgs. These casuals will be getting too much for a too little effort in 4.3.

Atleast 2200 rating weapon item levels should be increased to make more of a difference over tier1.

What a shame you are going to have to rely on your skill to pwn noobs instead

I have perfected my wtf pwn rotation a long time ago. Can't get any more ownage out of my current team.

I just hate the fact that it's possible for casuals to overwhelm and kill me easier with their shiny new no effort gear and noob skills. Atleast late in the season that is.

So for 20% of the season, you won't be able to one-shot noobs.
