You can build a pc for under 1k. It's really easy to build one. If you have windows you can install it on the new pc. All you have to do is put the parts together. One thing to be aware of is hard drive prices are through the roof right now. The same drive that cost me $109 in Sept cost $259 due to flooding in Taiwan.
