I got in for the weekend. so far I've only played a bounty hunter and Jedi and i have to say i'm severely under impressed. Sure its pretty, and they certainly put a lot of work into the quest givers all having their own mini cinematic etc, but its Wow. every key bind, chat layout, log, overall game play. in fact the ui is very similar to a ui mod i believe called NUI. it's fun as a jedi to throw stuff around, guess that's different than anything in wow.

hope it gets better at higher levels.

Your not alone in your feelings. I see a lot of posts on the beta forums just like yours. I see your point. Any MMO that comes out is going to have similar things to WoW. Its the biggest and best MMO ever. It took ideas that worked from previous MMOs and games and made them work in a way that multi millions of people loved. SO any future games that do not follow that to some extent might not do well. Games that have tried to innovate things about combat control and ui stuff have failed ( Conan )

I think its those similarities that make the game fun. Along with the companion system and a world that makes me feel like I'm in the SW universe. I love it! The only unknown for me at this time is the end game. Thats an unknown for anyone because they have not tested it much. I know Ill play it and level probably one of every class/ac to max level, before i decide I want to stay or not. The end game would have to be really amazing to keep me away from WoW long term.

For any game to be not like wow will be tough for them to succeed. Millions of players have played wow and quite frankly, its a system that is easy to get used to, for all ages who game. I think that you should be thankful that they are keeping it similar in that way so it will have a fighting chance. I think SWTOR will succeed cause its the first time Star Wars made an MMO that is comparable to WOW. You quest, you fight in dungeons, and there will be raid content. With hardmodes!

    And on that note!

    Greetings Drarkan,

Your account has been selected to participate in an upcoming Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Beta Weekend Test. If you have previously tested or are currently participating in an ongoing test, you will be invited again. Additional details for this upcoming test will be announced soon.

As part of this test, we will be partnering with games industry sites to distribute additional beta codes as necessary. This will help ensure we meet our population goals, so we can effectively stress test our servers in preparation for launch. Please do not acquire and redeem one of these codes as it could jeopardize your ability to participate in this test.

As a reminder, should you choose to participate, everything associated with this test (game information, process, forums communication, etc.) is confidential and may not be discussed outside of the Game Testing forum. Additionally, your participation in the Game Testing Program is subject to the Game Testing Agreement

May the Force be with you,
The Star Wars: The Old Republic Team

Hi, new around here, I got in for the stress test as well. I wish I would have known about these sites before, I have almost always had at least 2 accounts in every MMO I've played. I have 2 accounts for the stress test weekend and I am looking at trying to run both on one PC. Any help would be appreciated on what I might need, etc. From what I have seen I will need ISboxer, and Innerspace. Also, got in for this current weekend.

Got confused on where to download the beta client, actually went and purchased the game on Origin cause I thought thats where the beta download was... Well at least I have the game when it releases

if anyone who got invited and are confused where to download it, go to http://www.swtor.com/tester/

So yeah, only those who are invited will get the download link of course. Now only have to wait for the game to download on my laptop, and I'll get it on my desktop too. It takes a while though, hope I can play it before the weekend is over, and I hope they don't close us out I want to start my Sith Inquisiter

Hope the Server Status Unavailable means I can't login cause I haven't finished downloading

I got a double invitation for a weekend test (don't know which one yet though, apparently another mail will come).

In the meanwhile, would it be possible if someone shared some info on how to set it up to work with ISBoxer?
I'd rather know how to do it in a single machine but two PCs over same LAN is okay too.

    Thanking you in advance,
    A.

It PLAYS like WOW and uses many of the same systems. But It's total KOTOR/Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Bioware from the graphics to the questing.

At least you don't have to learn to play. Bioware didn't want to take too many risks and they didn't.
