Hey everyone!
So it's been a couple months since the site ownership change and as promised, nothing has really changed around here and you've all carried on your business as usual.
I have something really cool to share that I've been working on for dual-boxing.com. I think it's really cool anyway. And I hope you guys will too. Feedback so far has all been positive. I'm going to try to do this quietly so that too many people don't rush it at once (hence not front paging this or the link yet)... it hasn't blown up yet, but we'll see. It's still kinda a work in progress, but it's far enough along for you to join in!
I call it.... The Commons: http://www.dual-boxing.com/commons
What is The Commons? The Commons is an area, tied to your dual-boxing.com forum account, for multiboxers of *many games* to share their characters and teams, screenshots and videos. Other multiboxers -- and our rivals who decide to log in -- can vote and comment on everything including your favorite servers or whine on your team page if you killed them. Your characters and teams can be tagged in your videos and screenshots, so that when viewing your screenshot you get links back to the characters, or when viewing your characters you get links to the screenshots they're in. You can search the content, filter it by games, check out everything on specific realms, etc. You can also permanently delete anything you add to The Commons.
Some games provide an API for communities like ours to show additional information about characters and things in that game. So far we're keyed for the the WoW community API (multiboxing is, after all, not prohibited), and using the EVE Online non-keyed API to check character names (might add the other public information as well - character profile picture, bloodline, etc). It's not hooked up to any API for any other game, so any suggestions are welcome. You can still add your characters and teams for other games, we just won't have the extra data.
Anyway, it'll be great fun, and it'll help connect us multiboxers together in new ways!
Your feedback is humbly requested.
