Thread: Key map problem

  1. #1

    Default Key map problem

I have key maps set up that allow my healer to heal his focus target. In the same key map i have a step runs a isboxer macro that focuses the correct character and then a step that runs a second isboxer macro and casts the heal. The hot keys for the healing set up are , [ ] ' and mouse button 3

This setup works great for all but my number "3" slot ( the [ hot key). I have the same problem on 2 different sets of toons that use the same keymaps.

I checked for wow key maps that might use the same keys and didn't find any. i also deleted all my jamba macros in the event that they may have had the same key bindings.

I also tried changing the hot key to a different hot key and still no luck.

    Anyone here have any suggestions?

see attached private paste if anyone can help.

I should note that the key map does not appear to "fire" and the healer does not focus the character in slot #3. I also have the dps characters set to do dps on this hot key and they do not attempt to cast spells either.

Have you ever tried repeater regions with a Grid and Clique setup for healing. That way you just hover the mouse cursor over the character grid in need of healing and click the mouse buttons for all the healing spells. I have all 5 chars in a grid pattern and when the mouse cursor hovers over a character i left click to send one spell, right click another, mouse wheel foreward another, mouse backwards, and wheel click. This combined with repeater regions means it wont matter which slot i have in main window the clicks all go to healer slot and i get heals where needed.

I have played around with this some, and I like the way it can be set up for any team or party (i am trying to duplicate that with button clicks). What i don't like about it is keeping track of where the mouse is on the screen along with what all 5 of characters are doing. I must be a spaz or something, cause i am always loosing track of the cursor and hate having to rely on that for my healing (my own personal preference).

I have 5 of the mouse buttons set up to heal a certain slot or party member. I also have my modifier keys set up to cast a different heal depending on which mod keys are held down. This way if i press a button i know that slot will be healed no matter what else is going on.

I was able to make a new focus macro, a new heal macro, and a new mapped key (all using new and different key combinations) that would heal my "slot3" toon so maybe i just need to double check all my key bindings and macro keys.

I have my Paladin set to heal her Focus, when I spam my "1", "2" or "7" keys.
Which I believe are my DK's three attack spam keys.

If she has no Focus, then those keys do nothing on the Paladin toon.
Essentially, she alternates between "1" and "2" as her output, when I press either of those three keys.

I also have mouse scroll wheel up, set in Clique, as Focus this frame.
So while spamming my DPS sequence, the Paladin either frantically uses her maximum healing output macros or she doesn't cast anything.

I can use the Grid mouse-over healing, if I want to spot heal anyone in the party.
Or for that matter anyone in the BG or raid, as the Grid will display up to a 40-man.

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for.
    It is probably not quite.
Essentially, if I have a Focus set then it heals via buttons rather than precise control over healing via the Grid frame.
And it does use Focus as the targeting method.

This is similar to the method i am using. I want to use focus rather than target so i can still use FTL from the healer if i want to. Good info there thanks for the link.

I am convinced it must be a key bind issue.

I guess ill try disabling all my add ons and starting a fresh bindings-cache.wtf file for all my accounts and see if that helps.

if you use clique and gridit doesn't affect your ftl at all, i still use ftl on my pally for my dks' and jst mouseover the grid box to do all my healing, it doesn't affect targeting any at all.
