I couldn't disagree with you more. I did not overreact and based on my reaction we all learned something about revenant. Many of us thought this guild was created by boxers. I applied to revenant and complied with every request made to me. I bumped the post, sent a guild request on swtor site as requested and posted an introduction on the forums. I made a total of 4 post on their forums from the date of my application until this drama.

Changing you to recruit status. Welcome Aboard! Glad to have you!

Also sign up over at swtor.com and apply at http://www.swtor.com/guilds/81814/revenant.

Also shoot us a bump for our recruitment thread at (Please avoid just "Bump" or "TTT" try to post something a little constructive.) http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=323382

Recruit status stays for 2 weeks. Please visit the board as I will contact you at the end to see if your still with us. We will soon begin weekly check-in posts until the release of the game to make sure we still have active users.
Based on their message to me that I would be contacted at the end to see if I wanted to stay I fully expected some type of communication via email from them. When I received the ONLY email from them saying I was denied I messaged back immediately. I was told I was denied because I did not post on the forums every week. Thats when everything blew up. If you can't see how this would upset anyone I don't know what to tell you. So far as I am concerned I complied with every request of me. The mistake is on their end and it was sad it took a giant forum drama to get them to admit it. This is a learning experience for everyone. If anyone overreacted it was revenant for sending me a denial.

What I would like, is a guild in SW that I feel can be a fresh start for many of us in this community (boxing SW or not) who have never had a chance to play together, or who have been playing together off and on for years.

I would also love to play with new blood, with people who join because they find boxing interesting, or because they have friends here etc. I am vcertainly excited to find unrelated people, who can enjoy the game with us, who share similar interests and goals, who play the game for PvP and PvE and whatever else we are doing, and we can expose them in a positive light to what it means to be in a multiboxing community.

So far, Revenant is that guild, with the exception that it was the others that run the show, and we fill the ranks. Fine on some occasions, not on others :P

I was even waiting to use one of my favorite star wars images for a rebuttal from someone.

Interesting couple of points there Svper.

I've kept my personal opinion out of public post for a while. Not saying I havent PM'd with others with same discussion.

My take on all this is; I thought Revenant was led by Crum. My mistake for not seeing that before I jumped in. Im not even sure if it wouldve made a difference anyway. LoB does seem to have that gated community feel. Sure, I can /g "hey" and not get a reply for an hr... or I can come in and 30+ toons are out blowing up some alliance. Its very socially dynamic when it comes to daily communication.

Revenant, just as Mokoi pointed out, isnt run / managed by boxers. There are some non boxers there. Dare I say, there are even a few "tolerant" of boxers, but definitely pushing a vibe of not liking it. I am a little sensitive, as most boxers are, of certian key words and phrases. I.e Bots, cheat, hax, and phrases like the more recent post of "defeating the purpose of guild gaming community". Those are bugs that are.. i dunno the best word... annoying? Those comments are comments and buzz words that the boxing community has had to endure and be above, and work through, for years. Its no shocker to STILL hear people say "your a cheat, its against the TOU, and Im reporting you". We know, theyre wrong. But after a while of being constantly reminded of how narrow minded and uneducated people are, there comes a point where being closed off in a gated community doesnt look so bad anymore.

For a little while, I have been sitting on a fence of this or that. And just when I think, "ok, im gonna do this".. something changes it and puts me back on the fence.

My point is. I dont like the fence. I believe for my own comfort zone of play, and the fact that im paying for the account(s) vs anyone else doing it for me, just as Svper mentioned, do what makes you happy.

Today, this moment, Im ok with Revenant. The guild leaders appear to be quite level headed, maintain some humility, are willing to listen and are well tolerant of "learning" to deal with us. Cause, lets face it... we do tend to come with some baggage, mature or not. Im not jumping ship, until I see a hole, thats not patchable... and Im more than willing to make patches myself if need be.

The thing is ... its not the only guild out there. If they offend you then join our guild Its not a boxing guild... just a guild of a couple boxers and some RL friends..

    @OT:
I thought that Revenant was being run by boxers too. /shrug. I think Supernova made a good point about being in a guild with only boxers: It's a self-limiting environment. I think it's a good thing that there's a good mix of boxers and non-boxers. I think it'll be healthy.

Yeah, I don't want anyone to think that they have to join Revenant. It was started by some real life friends of mine, and they are down to earth, fair and opened minded. I just thought that I would offer up a place for some of my boxing friends who I enjoyed playing with (Svper, Old man Vecter) and others started following so I put more into the recruitment effort to get everyone on the same page. It's a great guild and we welcome everyone, and no ill feelings if boxers decide to make their own "LoB" type guild.

I posted on another thread before I read this one. Was horrified to find drama about Pinot being 'kicked' from Revenant.

I never really posted on DB much before, but have been siphoning knowledge from this forum for many years. I am not a forum-troll; I come to DB for tips, strategies, and macros and then get out and go back into the game! I totally connect with Pinot for not really wanting to, or expecting to be required to, post frequently in Revenantgaming.com.

I, among many others, wish for all hurt feelings to be calmed, and hope that Pinot, and other boxers and serious MMOers will join Revenant. No need for boxers to wander off and form their own guild. It is better that we go more mainstream and mix with regular gamers. (We will never be universally loved! lol)

Here is my repost from the other thread:

Hey Pinot! I hope it has not already gone too far, and that you will still consider joining the greatest grouping of multiboxing talent in SWTOR. Most of the boxers from Legion of Boom and the Zerg are in Revenant already. It is the best place for a boxer to be as we await the release of the world's most anticipated MMO.

I understand where you are coming from: you work hard in two jobs and would rather spend your limited 'free time' in a game playing instead of reading forums. Before I got totally sick of Cataclysm, I NEVER spent time in forums. I have closed down my five WOW accts and in my hunger to read of the upcoming SWTOR, I have been posting on Reventgaming and have gotten to know them. They are not a bad bunch, and you should take a second look.

Once the game releases, I don't expect to EVER post on revenantgaming.com as I will be in near constant contact via Ventrilo or in game chat.

I believe Riva has the "post a couple times in your first two weeks" rule simply to screen out people who are not serious about the guild. I don't think that after the first two week period they even check! Copy and paste your application again, post once or twice during your first two week probation, and a couple months from now this will all be forgotten as we are in game, KICKING JEDI SCUM ASS, and making new friends! Four months from now we will all be SWTOR vets and this will all be ancient forgotten history.

The whole matter seems to have gotten blown all out of proportion. Re-apply if you haven't already, and join us in opening a new game! A new era of multiboxing and MMO-ing!
