Angry Kicked Out Of Revenant Before The Game Releases

I am not sure what you have to do to stay in this guild. I applied and posted an introduction on their forums. I get this email today. What does one have to do in order to stay active in a game that is not released? If this is how the guild operates count me out. I would urge everyone else to bail as well. If they are kicking people out before the game releases, just think of how it will be when you actually play the game.

Here is some advice for the leaders of Revenant. Don't promote your guild here to get boxers to join if you plan on booting them out before the game is released.

    Hello,

I am emailing you because you have past your 2 week trial period, but we
haven't heard back from you. We will be moving your app to denied.
However if you decide to come back, please copy and repost your app. We
will have to review you for the two weeks again. Hope to hear from you!

You should probably wait to hear what the explanation is before you start telling everyone to jump ship.
Seeing as you're the first one to report this and you weren't the first one to be accepted into Revenant, I
can only guess that there was some sort of slip up. People are human and mistakes can be made.

Today is not a good day for me. If it's an error I will give them a pass. If not then my suggestion holds.

WTF? Do they know the game is not out yet?

I do understand people have other things going on in their life. But
checking into the forums once a week isn't much to ask. Many guilds make
you sign in daily, we are just asking you to check in once in a while.
Your two week recruitment was up, but there was no way for us to tell if
your still with us or not. You obviously check email daily, same thing
goes with the guild site. Hopefully this isn't too much to ask.

Say what!?! Yanno? I was JUST thinking to myself last week " where's Pinot? But I knew you were here, cause I read you stuff.

I "get" what Rivas saying, however, I think there's a stronger argument in your position. What if you were on vacation?

Hmm I hope you don't think this too forward, but I gotta ask Riva about this. It's a damn video game.

It helps if the game is out and we are all playing. WTF is someone suppose to do until they can actually play the game and take part in activities? This is a huge red flag. I have no idea if fellow boxers run this. Or it could be someone who wanted to take advantage of boxers desire to play together in order to develop a guild. If they plan on being this strict when the game is in beta you can bet it will be a pain in the ass once it's released.

In all of my experiences with "gaming" communities they expect you to be part of the crew, regardless of
what is going on and don't let you just sit idle as a stranger. At least Revenant didn't expect you to hang
out on Ventrilo or play other games with the community in this downtime prior to the game's release.

All gaming communities want you all to get to know each other long before the game's launch so that
everyone is friendly with each other. You're supposed to be a family of sorts and I can see why they do
that. They want people to be comfortable with one another and it helps them weed out people they may
    not want in the family.

For example, I was really looking forward to joining a hardcore gaming community prior to TERA's U.S.
release, however, they wanted all kinds of commitment prior to the game's launch and it just wasn't
something I was willing to put forth prior to the that. They expected their members to play games like CoD
and BF2 with them as well as hang out on Ventrilo a few times a week to just chat and that's just not what
I was looking to do although they required it if I was going to be a member.

It's why I don't tend to join communities too far in advance prior to the game's actual launch.

As for attempting to tarnish Revenant's name and telling everyone else to "jump ship" well, I don't think
that's fair at all. They do state in their guild charter (which everyone technically agrees to when they sign
up) that they expect people to stay active even if you're not currently playing a game at that time with
    them:

I posted an introduction on the member forums. Not sure what else I can do until we actually play the game. Once the game is out I will be active every day. They should understand this. Most boxers are adults. I am 39 years old and work 24 hour shifts as a fire fighter. I also run my own retail store. I don't have time to chat on the forums once per week until the game releases. I have no problem participating in a guild if the game was out. If they had told many of us who joined that we would be kicked out if we don't post on the forums every week I bet most of us would never have joined. I think its rude to come to these forums and recruit us only to boot us if we don't post weekly on their forums. I could understand if the game was out when I applied and never showed up.

I am not tarnishing their name. People need to know what they are getting into. Otherwise, they could be the next member on the chopping block. If people are cool with being kicked out like I was then by all means join up. What pisses me off is most of my guild has joined. So if I want to play with my guild members of WOW I need to play on the same server of the guild who kicked me out. And they said leave drama at the door. They shouldn't start drama and it wouldn't need to be left at the door. Today is not a good day.

I hate drama and avoiding it is actually one of the reasons I multibox, but in this case I simply have to say:

I figured I come in and defend Revenant a little.

First off Pinotnoir, I have no bad blood with anyone here. I'm not sure what you were confused about from the start and I have offered to work out anything that seems confusing. When you app, you agree to our charter. Again I'm not asking for you to be on every hour on the hour. But it's almost been a month from your initial post, when we ask for you to check in so we know your still interested, I don't think this is a wild request.

Second, You keep stating that the game is still yet to be released... So wouldn't this be the opposite of what your saying? You don't interact with the guild at all, why not interact until you can get in game with them? We have plenty of people who have plenty to say. We post new information about the game daily, and have plenty of stuff to decide on as a guild. I do think maybe you haven't been in a Guild run like this, but without structure things can get messy.

As always, I'm willing to listen to anyone's side of the story.
