Sure. Just make sure you create temp chars on your final destination with the names you want - so no one goes and snatches the names from you while you're away. Or, if you want to rename your characters, leave the temp chars during the final transfer which lets you do a name change.

But I wonder if it's possible to modify the recents.cfg file before launching Rift in order to make the character you want to login be the one that is selected in the character select screen. So all you have to do is press Enter.
