Thread: Blackwing Lair

    Default Blackwing Lair

Hi How do I kill the first boss in BWL, I got 5 Shamans level 85. I did found a video about placing 4 in the middle and heal to get aggro while the 5 was doing the eggs, but that dident work cus they dident get aggro, was using chainheal. So if you have any tips I will be happy

I understand the healing strategy, and tried it a few times, I just magma's down the trash walking with the boss and chain healed the group near the boss to keep him alive, at times he can drop quick. The aggro from those heals seemed fine.

Everything will die from your totems easily. You might need to pickup your totems quick at times just so he doesnt die when the orb controller is fatigued

At times I chain lightninged the orb controller area and rid that area of mobs.

I decided yesterday that my paladin tank would look great in Judgement armor. Ragnaros went down in 40ish seconds, the only problem in MC was pulling all those dog packs before the dog boss at the same time + the other boss that patrols that area :-/ Didn't even notice the extra boss until he died - but the dogs would not stay dead - had to go look it up on the net while my tank was entertaining the doggies with retribution aura

Anyway, did BWL afterwards, with no wipes. That first boss was a bit ... chaotic ... but down he (and his eggs) went. Tactics:

I placed my group (Prot pally, holy priest, ele shamn, frost mage, balance druid) in the middle of the room, and alternated controlling the boss with my pally and shaman, after each shift returning to the middle. Sometimes the char taking over the boss-control has aggro from some adds, so those need to be nuked down before trying to use the orb.

    I made a macro for my priest, something like /castsequence [target=WhatsHisNameThatBossDragon] renew,heal,heal,heal,heal,heal

then i just ran around destroying eggs, and healing the boss (and my healer) as needed. Whenever my healer started to take serious damage, i spammed my AoE key, until the add population was down to a reasonable level.

    Hope this helps :-)

(oh - and I did get one piece of the armor - gonna take YEARS to get it all :-()

Armoury Atox from Frostmourne. Check his Nef kills, I think it is near 40 or so. Have full T2 on about 8 chars including 4 shammies, so it doesn't take that long, good luck with the drops. It gets easier and easier each time you do it too.

True - got the drop from ragnaros on my 2. week - and are now halfway there. Unfortunately i disenchanted the shield from Garr before i notices that its a perfect match for the Judgement armor. Back to molten core ...

He is thinking of the Drillborer Disk, matches T2 pretty well IMHO.

I was thinking of Drillborers Disk.

However - i now have more serious problemes! Chromaggus. The 2 first times i ran BWL i blazed right through - but the last 3 times i have tried Chromaggus have almost annoyed me to death. One of my toons will get the Chromatic Mutation debuff, and Chromaggus will get healed :-( To further the problem the one with the Mutation will not die, even after I wipe! He will just stand there until the debuff runs out - and the Chromaggus will aggro again, give him Chromatic Mutation again and it starts all over :-(

Was I just lucky the first time? How do I get past that stupid dog?

    Elgert -
You are running a mixed team? Just keep dispells up. I recall you only get the Chrom debuff if one of your guys gets all 4 debuffs.

Ok, so I must just have been very lucky the first time. Guess i'll try having 1 or 2 toons dispel all the time. The tactics i used last time was to dps while heroism lasted - and then take a round of all-toons-dispel-something-on all the party. And yes, i'm running with a mixed team.
