Default Warlock Fear Macro / Mage Sheep Help

I am having a problem when I use fear, my warlocks stop dpsing after a few moments (it looks like their target changes to target my tank somehow).

I am using a similar macro for sheeping with my mage, and I am able to sheep and then continue dpsing like normal.

Here are the two macros I am using.

This is a sheep macro that I found here somewhere

    #showtooltip [target=focus,harm] [] Polymorph
    /stopcasting
    /clearfocus [modifier:shift][target=focus,dead][target=focus,noexists]
    /focus [target=focus,noexists]
    /cast [target=focus] Polymorph
I modified this for fear (I have two warlocks in my party currently)

    #showtooltip [target=focus,harm] [] Fear
    /stopcasting
    /clearfocus [modifier:shift][target=focus,dead][target=focus,noexists]
    /focus [target=focus,noexists]
    /cast [target=focus] Fear
Here is the current Mage DPS Macro and Warlock DPS macro I am using. I am also doing the two step method.

    /stopmacro [channeling]
    /assist focus
    /castsequence reset=target/5 Scorch,Fireball,Fireball,Fireball,Living Bomb,Fireball,Fireball,Fireball,Fireball,Living Bomb,Fireball,Fireball,Fireball,Fireball,Living Bomb,Fireball
    /cast Pyroblast!

    /stopmacro [channeling]
    /assist focus
/castsequence reset=combat/80 Flame Orb, Combustion, Mirror Image
    /use Mana Gem
    /use 13
    /use 14
    /stopmacro [channeling]
    /assist focus
/castsequence reset=target/5 Immolate,Fel Flame, Corruption, Incinerate, Incinerate, Incinerate, Life Tap,Incinerate, Incinerate
    /cast Firebolt
    /cast Chaos Bolt
    /use 13
    /use 14

    /stopmacro [channeling]
    /assist focus
    /castsequence reset=combat/10 Soul Fire,Conflagrate,Conflagrate,Curse of the Elements,Bane of Doom,Soul Fire,Conflagrate,Conflagrate,Soul Fire,Conflagrate,Conflagrate,Soul Fire,Conflagrate,Conflagrate,Soul Fire,Conflagrate,Bane of Doom,Conflagrate,Soul Fire,Conflagrate,Conflagrate,Soul Fire,Conflagrate,Conflagrate
    /cast Demon Soul

I believe because the "Feared" target is still targeting someone unlike sheep or many other types of CC.

Some alternative methods are to set your Warlock's macro to assist off your mage or a different macro like:
    /assist [@focus,help][@MageName]
Or use a Target method instead of Assist
    /tar [@focustarget,harm][MageName-target,harm]
The above macro will assist off your focus target if it is an enemy, otherwise it will assist off your mage.

I like the target method better because you can actually set a condition to target an enemy. With the assist macro, if your Focus or Mage is targeting a Friendly target, your Warlock will do the same and will not be attacking/casting. Is your Focus usually set to the Tank or someone else when you are not CC'ing?

Replace "MageName" with the name of your mage.

I drive with my pally tank. So generally I'll click an enemy, use sheep macro, click another enemy, use fear macro, click another enemy, use another fear macro. (With glyph so they stand still).and then pull the rest of the pack.

But the warlocks will stop dpsing after a few casts after I click back with my pally to whatever target I am burning down.

    Have you tried replacing
    /assist focus
    with
    /tar [@PaladinName-target,harm,nodead][@MageName-target,harm]
for your Warlocks' dps macros? (Replace "PaladinName" and "MageName" with your character's names)

What I was saying about fear is that the enemy is still targeting someone while fleeing in fear (while standing still with glyph). When sheeped or under other types of CC, they are not targeting anyone.

I'm still trying to understand why your dps macros are trying to assist off your focus target if you are using your focus targets for your CC'ed enemies. If you use these target naming macro, it does not matter who is on your focus when you are dpsing as long as you are always grouped with your Paladin, Mage, and Warlocks.

Replacing that seemed to work. I am able to fear and continue doing dps.

I don't fully understand the macro though (Sorry, super trying to learn though!)

    /tar [@PaladinName-target,harm,nodead][@MageName-target,harm]

I am confused on that part. (bolded) Why would you add that portion, is that like a kind of "backup" since the mage should technically be dpsing whatever the tank is targeting?

As for my macros - it's all from various places on here. =P My first team to hit 85, just about to start heroics with this team.

hi off topic but... does fearing mods still pull other packs of mods if they fear into them in pve dungons?

That part is a secondary condition if the first one is not met (if your tank is not targeting an enemy that is not dead), it will attempt to target your mage's target if it is an enemy (since your mage isn't having this problem).

Some of your macro can be improved, I could help you on that... but I do not play a Warlock or Mage so I can't help you on enchants, reforge, rotations or specs. I normally play tanks (Druid, Paladin, DK), Healers (Druid, Priest, Shaman, Paladin), and Rogues (I have 7 of them).

Fearing may agro another packs of mobs depending if they are "social" or not. With the Fear Glyph, they should stay in place and you shouldn't have to worry about it.
