    Default Questions about boxing

    I just started multiboxing with the use of programs and let me tell you, the days of me using multiple keyboards are done with!

    I have three accounts, My goal is to level my Mage, Rogue and Warrior on my main accout to 50. So the other two accounts are just to assist in that goal. call them temporary accuonts Should i get another two account and jump into a full team? Still trying to figure out exactly how to run a mixed team.

    From what i was reading it looks like Warrior is going to be my problem child to level.

    My current team i have setup is 3x Mage. (debating on spec to level. any suggestions?)
    If i have macros set for dps;

    Example;
    #show (spell)
    cast (dps spell)
    etc...

    for all my 1-9 keys, each toon shoud cast the same spells with out me making individual key maps and actions to make them hit 1 right?

    Forgive me im new and eager to learn!

    I 3 boxed to 50 on 3 teams thus far (rogue, warrior, cleric). I did warrior first, mainly because I figured Riftblade was going to get nerfed heavily (it did), and I wanted to level with a ranged warrior spec. This is still possible after a few levels, with a mix of paragon and riftblade, however you won't have as great survivability with the need to dual-wield rather than having a shield on-hand.

    I also found that with abilities like "Bull Rush", I could do melee rather well, by having a ranged ability and the charge ability included in my fall-through for my main combo point building attack. If the other characters were lagging behind (out of melee range), the charge ability would bring them into melee range, or the ranged ability would fire if the charge was on cooldown.

    Now, as far as technical advice, I would highly recommend setting up FTL early, and getting used to it. This includes having an assist macro for each character, and your multibox software setup to send that along with the keypress for your abilities. With FTL modifiers, this allows you to use any character as your leader at any point in time. This is especially handy for gather/collect quests. If you're using ISBoxer as your software, then check out Lax's tutorial in isboxer.com for this.

    3 teams meaning all rogues, all warriors all clerics? or mixed?

    Any specs you care to share for the warrior? Im good with the cleric and rogue.

    I am learning the FTL modifiers still, i think one of these nights i will hop in the ISboxer chat room to talk with some scripting experts to see how it is done. In the mean time im going to grunt it out!

    Thank you for the feedback.

    Get to 4 RB / 12 Paragon asap for full range capability (using Flamespear, Path of the Wind and Path of the Raptor in cycle for basically full-time ranged attacks).

    I'd also pull in Reaver for the ranged DOT. From there out, increase Paragon/Riftblade as you like.

    This is what I'd aim for by level 18: You'll be single-targeting MOBs, and don't have any heals (another downside to an all warrior team now-a-days).

    For an alternative method of leveling, I would probably consider doing an all cleric team first, the AE damage capability is bar-none. Then once you got the 3-character team to 50, use the 2 clerics on your "throw-away accounts" to powerlevel up whatever class you want on your main account.

    ISboxer is so awesome. I can only imagine how hard it was to use multiple keyboards. Glad you are finding that boxer joy! It's always fun but there's nothing like the beginning.

    Having 3 accounts the holy trinity is still a good option. Tank, heal, and dps of course.

    Welcome to the world of true multiboxing.

    As for how it works, one thing you'll want to do is read up on multi-step keymaps in ISBoxer. That will allow you to stack things onto one key on your main.

    As an example, I stack my keymaps so they call all of my alt's keys via me pressing one key on the keyboard. That frees you up from having to remember which button to press next and lets you focus on things like movement, CC and longer cooldowns like mana regen abilities, etc.

    So I have:
    --> Single-target DPS key
    --> AoE DPS key
    --> "Finisher" key
    --> Group Heal key
    --> CC round-robin key
    etc.

    There are lots of ways to set up a team -- this is just one of 'em.

    dont limit yourself to 1-9.

    Utilize and key close to your fingers. F,G,V,C,X,Z are great additions for quick keys.

    I tend to not use T,Q,R since i use those for Tells, Autorun, Replies.

    Necromancer/warlock spec is great for levelling/questing 3x mages. I use one tanking pet and two melee dps pets. If it's a particularly tough mob I use two tanking pets and one melee dps pet, or in very rare occasions three tanking pets.

    Personally, I don't like to use printable characters as hotkeys. I don't want to turn off all hotkeys everytime I start typing something in the chat box, and then turn them on again.

    I use [Ctrl/Alt] F1-F12 to send [Ctrl/Alt] 1-= to all characters. I don't have a spam key chain or anything, just replicating keypresses. This also means that I can hit [Ctrl/Alt] 1-= and it only goes to my current character. It works great when using the same spec for all characters, and kind of works for some mixed groups as well.

    However, after hearing that in-game macro cast chains also checks if you're moving and will skip any ability that requires a casting bar in that case (as well as range check), I've been thinking of switching to more elaborate setups.

    I bumped my movement keybinds over one key to ESDF, and bound every key around them (10 keys total) to slots on the second action bar. This gave me about 15 or so keys that I can hit without moving my hand and having to look down to check which buttons I'm on... plus I love having the qaz keys under my left pinky for super fast access. I can't chat with keymaps on though, that's a little annoying but not a big enough issue to warrent drastic changes so far... mostly because I don't have friends ingame... j/k

    Thank you for all the responses!

    With the recent update to 1.5, i took the time to single box my main and do some of the chronocle events. ( playing one character seems so easy now )

    I just finished setting up my third accout and got them all within level of each other. I still cant get over the fact that i have 3 mages. I simply cast one DOT, and 2 other dots pop on the mob and all the pets go crazy on that mob!

    Who would of thought necrosis @ level 5 could kill a mob so fast!

    I was curious how other people felt about questing or grinding.
    Questing seems to be a pain due to turning on repeater, lineing up the toons so when i click the NPC they all get it. instead of rounding up mobs and flooring them.
