Is there any good reason atm to have an extreme chip? I mean the current i5-7s seem more than enough for anything out there. I mean with a good GPU+ a core i7 your good to go. I'm talking just for gaming.

From a multiboxing stand point... no, not with the current 2600/2700 Intel chips. In my "testing" I was able to
successfully play 30 accounts at once and I wasn't necessarily CPU limited. The system itself became quite
sluggish somewhere around the 20 game client mark but the games were still responsive. If anything I was
limited by my RAM and not how many cores I had.
