    I am running a 4 man team as my PC would most likely melt if i tried 5 - Priest , 2 x Locks , 1 mage.

For instancing I would highly recommend swapping in at least 1 warlock into yr team - an improved Voidwalker has proven a worthy tank so far, plus you get wipe protection with soulstones, and once you get portals you will be able to literally 'pop' back to a major city with yr main to empty bags or train and then summon him straight back.

I havent really tried any AoE grinding yet, but my locks hit 30 last night and got Hellfire so I shall be trying it out soon - i will keep you posted
Thanks for the advice. Those are very good points and would make life a bit easier.

One more question though for any who care to answer...I have a 39 priest who will eventually be the main. When if ever should I start grouping the priest with the lowbies? I tried it from the start to test it out and got 3 xp per kill...So, that's not very effective. Should I wait until the mages hit 14 and get arcane explosion and then group the priest with them and hit RFC and move up instances from there?

    Thanks for the tips.

I rolled my mage when my preist & locks were already lv 20 ish - best way to use them is to not group them up but have the preist following behind throwing renews on the group - to keep things ticking along when my mage went out of mana i would have him tap a mob with his wand then have them both wand it to death - 2 mobs killed this way would leave the mage outside 5 sec rule long enough to fill up his mana bar at low levels.

I'd have your priest run your crew through rfc, for the drops, to learn how to control your group on easy mode and to work out all of your macros, ui features and keybindings. If nothing else you'll get xp and some drops to vendor, disenchant and possibly use.

I have a 70 hunter I could use instead of the priest....would that work, running instances until the lowbies approach the 39 priest's level?
Which option would be faster in terms of getting the priest and mages all at the same level?

    Thanks.

If you value being able to do instances, I would try 1 paladin, 3 mages, and 1 priest.

What you lose: 1 mage's worth of aoe. 1 sheep, but i doubt you would be sheeping anyways if you were aoeing everything.

what you gain: half-decent aoe damage (consecrate). A viable tank that can hold aggro over mage aoe (blessing of salvation + mage arcane threat reduction). Extra buffs.

This setup is probably worse for pvp, but i can't begin to tell you how happy I am with the 3dps + pally + healer setup in dungeons! =D
