    Default IWT hunters vs. mages

I'm using ISBoxer for quite some time now and have a 5x mage and a 4x shaman + druid team up and running where IWT works perfectly for players or npcs be it friendly or hostile ones. Now I'm using the same setup for a team of hunters and encountered a problem:
Telling my toons to interact with a friendly target makes them turn and run towards it just like I'd expect it. If the target is hostile they wont even turn and I run out of ideas what makes those hunters behave differently from what mages or shamans do.

I believe you need to lead off with an enter combat before you can IWT when using hunters. But Im not sure.

my only question is why are u using iwt for hostiles with a ranged class? that seems more problematic than anything imo. maybe im jst looking at it wrong, but on my ranged teams, i never use iwt for hostiles since ftl picks up the target anyway.

I think he's talking about facing. If hunters are facing the wrong way but are in range of a mob, they won't turn to face the mob in order to attack because they won't default to a melee auto attack. The only way they'll turn to face a mob behind them is if they are out of range for a ranged auto attack.

Mages and other caster ranged do, however, default to melee auto attacks, so they will turn to face the mob and run in with IWT.

Even if it's not about facing, it all boils down to hunters default to a ranged auto attack. They will never run in to melee range to attack a mob. Even if you remove their ranged weapon, they will simply stand there and spam you with "You must have a ranged weapon equipped" or some such. They'll either need to follow someone or use something like a focusing lens for facing. Or move them out of attack range, then interact so they run back into range...but if you're going to do that, may as well just swing them around to face the right way.

This exactly. The problem is facing the enemy and getting within range in case the toons are to far away.

Focusing lens might do it. During my first weeks of multiboxing I read about that and did not understand why people need such tools because my mages worked without it
