Melee setup problematique.

Hello forum. Today i feel like i've had it with Caster setups, so i want to try melee setup so bad, but as i am complete noob in boxing i have never managed to run a successful melee group so i hope that you could highlight couple of problems im having.
I know that you must think im complete idiot, but its not that easy to box as some of you might have gone trough the same problems that i do. Ok to the problems. I have tried running 4 warriors with a little success but the problems are.

- IWT + click to move : I have a little success with the IWT + click to move, but it requires a lot of work to get it done the way i do it, so i think there is a easier way. (i do it by binding - as (interact with target) and F as (assist master), But as you can probably see that requires endless amount of key spamming and loss of following after successfully killing/hitting the target. Also i see a huge problem in the macros because i can't make working macros for melee, but casters i know better.

- ISboxer macros/keybinds/keymaps: I have been trying to read the guides about the issue, but i just don't get it.

Heh, We all started out somewhere.
1. dont get discouraged!

this is a biggie, because, as other people have already illustrated to you, MBing isnt easy. If it was easy and didnt require logic etc, all the whiney "mobile honor farms" would be doing it too. So, keep your chin up, and keep tinkering.

2. READ!! and when youre done reading something, RE-READ it. And then when you got it, RE-RE-READ it!!! All the information for boxing, (casters, round robin tricks, melee, all same class, different classes, boss strategies, pvp tactics, etc etc)... its all here. The links at the top of this forum are your #1 starting point. I also encourage you to look up youtube videos.

3. You can create things call Action Target Groups... ATG. (ISBoxer), and in these groups, you can put your melee in it. Alter your DPS1 through DPS= keys, or just one key, to include an Interface With Target. Note: you need to also include your WoW keybinds for each toon.

4. Dont miss silly stuff. It makes you look silly, feel silly, and then you get discouraged. Things like "Do I have ISBoxer and all the other addons properly installed?" "Are they checked for EACH toon in WoW?" If you use Jamba.. "Is Jamba synced with all the other accounts?" "Are my WoW keybinds correct?" "Did I check the little checkbox at the top of the keybind page for THIS CHARACTER?" "Am I pressing the correct key combination?" "Do I have the function key lock on?" etc etc etc...

5. Try it. Alter your settings in ISBoxer and Jamba. play around with stuff. Trial and error. Whats the worst that could happen??? you Eff it all up, and have to make a new ISBoxer group by using the 5 min wizard? Pifft.


I saw one of your other threads a week ago, and another today of your caster group. Keep in mind, a successful boxer doesnt care what his toons are situated (outside boss fights). So long as they answer to commands from the keyboard and mouse... are pointed in the right direction... and arent dead.

Keep in mind, you can always start out with two. Then when you get it figured out, add one, or two, or more. Also, you can multibox (the hard way), with no software. Two accounts, and have one guy simply /follow the first... and just grind your way through, with your experience leech behind you. What the software does, is allow your keyboard to send commands to the other account at the same time. Thats it. Everything else is still all WoW.

Yes.. Made some progress got slaves to move to the target and attack it, but i have to spam V and R and the spell. Sigh.. this is hard, but im getting there!

I run one pally and 2 dks but my setup is very basic.
My pally is my main, and the 2 dks on follow. All the dks has pally as focus and all their spell and attacks are base on focus target. What I found running melee is that range between lead and follower is enough to fit a mob in it. When you attack, follow will break so i have follow in my attack macros. This will force the follow to face the lead even if they are not moving.
So to start a fight, lead will run through the mob and turn around. this way all of my toons are faceing the mob. Not sure that helps but its very rare to see melee multiboxer for a reason, its not easy to do.

Yes. Thank you for your replies i have now followed the guides, but still there are some problems: in the guide it said: Action 1: Send our Warcraft IWT keybind to the Current Window. But when im trying to alter actions there is no suchs thing as Send warcraft IWT keybind to the Current window.

From what I understand, there isn't anything called "Send Warcraft IWT..." Someone who actually uses ISBoxer should correct me if I'm wrong. That's simply a description of what your step should do. That is, if your WoW keybind for IWT is -, then you want to create an action on the the Mapped Key you just created {"Melee IWT"} that sends to Current Window the Key -.

Start with these videos to see what is going on. They are only for using IWT, not for building the multi-step keys to incorporate IWT into your DPS keys. But it will give a general idea of where to start, as there is some use of multiple steps.

Try Jamba's autofollow after combat in Jamba-Follow. Adjust the time delay so it's lower. I mention it here under Core : Tags

You don't need a separate hotkey for assisting, just build it into your slaves' macros as described here under Assisting

You can probably do it directly with ISBoxer, as well, using FTL Assist or something. Either way, it's a wasted action to have assisting as an individual key for combat. I only ever use a separate assist key for non-combat actions, such as targeting NPCs, dead mobs or mobs I need to use a quest item on.

Melee macros aren't really any different than caster macros. They use pretty much the same format. What issues are you having with the macros?

like i said, my setup is very basic.
all i have is able to send hot keys over to all my wow windows and everthing else is done with in game macro. Some other member will have to help you with the software setup. all the keys i send 1-0,- , = and space. need the space for flying and under water.
