I recommend 1080 in full screen even though YouTube's re-encode kills the original quality.

That is a beautifully designed and rendered world from what I can see in those videos. Shame the mob AI made no advancements. Not that this game is unique, there. Seems to me the mob AI is one area where no MMO has made any progress since oh about 2003.

The world is amazing and I've not seen anything as amazing as TERA (not that I've played every MMO by
any means). There is no Antialiasing built into the engine (yet) and forcing it on through the nVidia control
panel does nothing unfortunately. The trees move and the clouds actually move and create shadows on the
ground. I would say NCSoft has done a good job in creating the world that TERA lives in. My only gripe is
that there are invisible walls and crap you can easily get caught up on if you're too close to the edge of
something. This isn't game breaking but can be annoying if you're trying to kite something too close to
certain objects. As a side note, wall climbing is just as easy as it was in vanilla WoW.

I have a feeling you might be referring to the three moose that I was fighting at the end of the first video.
You're right though, most quest mobs are pretty dumb in the sense that if you can successfully kite and
run circles around things in WoW that you will be fine in TERA. There were some elite fights that I had
recorded and left out of my second video because they were terrible and Crum and I just couldn't duo them
or the fights would take an upwards of 15 minutes to kill one -- very slow and unexciting. As we're
progressing through the game the elites are becoming more and more unforgiving and the minute he tries to
cast a heal on me they will immediately turn on him. I play a Warrior which is a DPS/Tank role but I am an
evasion tank who shouldn't be taking mass amounts of damage and sometimes my aggro isn't always up to
    par.

All in all... we're having a great time in this game regardless of being able to read much of anything. It's
pretty basic, though... we've been able to figure almost everything out on our own and what we can't there's
most likely an English guide for it. We're now in an English speaking guild full of Americans since our old
guild from months ago went inactive and we had no idea. The NA/EU release has been pushed back 6
months until Spring 2012 because apparently NCSoft & BlueHole are not happy with this game in its current
state (I don't know the details on that).

Lemme clarify what I mean. In most games I've played, things just face you and either cast or run up and melee. Sometimes they'll drop something you have to move out of or do some cone or other AoE you have to run away from. Tera looks the same, except that every move is a frontal move so you just run around behind or to the side and voila, avoided. Then you have Super Advanced Mode, where the frontal attacks are interspersed with "Oh, I think I'll hop around in a pattern every so often so don't be standing in front when I do it. K?" Maybe I'm just getting jaded with MMOs these days. I'd rather have mobs do something interesting (like teamwork or use of terrain or....something) instead of just tightening the threshold for insta-kill-if-you-don't-move-quick-enough.

Yeah, there isn't much in the way of new and fresh AI in this game. There are instances of where is I use an attack with a long cast time the mob will side step out of it if it is agroing me, or large groupds will scatter and try and surround me. The elites have much more random and varied attacks, though after MiRai and I fight them 2-3 times we can see the "tells" and know like uh oh here comes the AOE or Tail Swipe.

All in all, this game is a lot more visual in the fight department, fighting the elites remind me of oooooold school console games boss fights, where if you just stand and spam you will get crushed.

I am with you though, havent seen a true AI advancement in eons and think it would be nice to see one.

I retract my previous statement. I am able to successfully force on 8xAA through the nVidia Inspector and it is glorious.
