Default Top 3 pre-cata instances to farm?

If you had to farm 3 instances to max gold per hour, what would you do?

    My situation . . .
I took 8 months off from WoW, now I'm trying to gear a team asap. They are 85s and pre-heroic gear. I'd like to up their item level on the AH a bit before tackling heroics and farming cata drops. I have limited time to experiment with different instances.

It sounds like firelands is great cash, but I'm woefully undergeared for anything like that.

    My Research so far . . .

I found Shadokan's instance farming thread, but it has been closed.

    It was also wrath specific.

    What I'm looking for . . .

I'm trying to find the sweet spot of an instance with good drops (silver, cloth, de) that can be run 3-4 times an hour. I was wondering if there were better spots to farm with 85s today than with 80s in wrath?

    Any thoughts?

For me, personally, my moneymaker is Normal Vortex Pinnacle. Yes, its a Cataclysm dungeon, but its Money, Jerry! Volatile Airs still sell for about 25 gold each on my server, and killing everything up to and including the 2nd boss, I can net 20 or more Airs in a run. Not to mention the money drop and greens. You dont get cloth until you go past the 2nd boss, which I dont do, I just leave, reset, repeat.

You are better off grinding with potion of treasure finding... i make up to 3k an hour with it.

You can also use the reset trick with Tol-Vir for leather (10-20 per reset)

Thanks so much for that tip. I didn't know about that potion at all.

    Awesome.

Son of a b:+ c# neither did I! Well I knew the potion existed but I didn't think it worked in instances. I made one and used it in VP and wouldn't you know it, got a chest on the first pack of mobs! Damnit! I could have started doing this months ago!

    what trick?
I concur. Is there a way to beat the "5 instances per hour" lockout?

same way we did it with garfrost.

also using the potion in instances wasn't what i was talking about, there are several places where you can kill MANY more mobs/hour which gives you more chests and more gold overall. My max chests was 92 in 1 hour using some spots in deepholm.

I've been wondering about that, do you have every member of your party drink a potion? How is your loot setup, free for all or loot master? I'm guessing the chest would appear in the same way extra cloth does for my taylor. I have my main loot and then I'll look back with the taylor and all of the loot that is left sparkling is extra cloth. I guess that's why I'm not sure how great it would be if you were in a group and you literally had to swap to see the chest for each toon.

Only the person who drinks the potion can see the chests, so yes it's like the extra cloth for tailors. I drink it on my master and use FFA. I doubt it'd do any good to use the potion on multiple toons, you'd likely end up wasting too much time going through and looting on everyone.
