Default question about dps keys and adding a new team member?

if i have my FS > HB > NS keymap set to dps, and add my paladin to it, i know it wont get the keys sent to my DK's but can i put a macro like /cast sequence = combat Flash of Light, Flash of Light
    /cast Holy Shock

on the 1 keybind in wow on my paladin, would it interfere at all?

whats the best way to go with Paladin healing while mboxing a team of 4 dks and a H paladin? clicking majority on pally?

also regarding the dk's ive got my dps keys set, hungering cold RR set, and way i can continue my FS >OB dps key while on of my HC is going off so i dont waste a GCD

I think....If you have 4 DKs set up now, and you modified your DPS "1" key, when you add the pallie to the team, the pally should attempt to perform the same function as your altered DPS "1". However if the macro isnt there, or the specific spells used arent available to the toon, I believe.... it should just make an error sound, nothing more.

Some people prefer to use the healer as the main, wereas some dont. Personally, I do prefer it.. only because if the tank and melee are in the same ATG, and are on follow to the leader (Healer), when a pally tank pulls, the mobs run to melee range due to silence. So no DPS key modifications are needed to incorp IWT for melee ATGs.

yeah i see your point, ill be using the paladin healer as the leader, would it be best to not have him not in an ATG amd have him have his own set of DPS keys, but still added to the character set

My pally healer is NOT in the Melee ATG. However I have a hotkey for IWT when I want to waste mana.
I use the same DPS keys, which keeps my configuration modifications down to a minimum... and instead, I use the F1 thru F5 keys for her healing.

I created mouseover macros for each critical spell; (Flash heal, Beacon, Holy light, Heal, etc) and put them in the last 5 slots of the 'bottom left second action bar'.. then changed the keybinds in wow for that character only. This way I can still dps with the pally, OR I can heal with her and not adjust anything if I decide to play solo or with a friend or in my own team group. Finish off with Grid, and a repeater region... and done. I got a screenshot on another thread... lemme find it.

im guessisng with not having the CTRL modifier keybinds bound for my pally they would get bypassed and do whatever is on the 1 key, which would be my castsequence=combat, Flash of Light, Flash of Light, /cast Holy shock. cast at focus

sure... if you want to press those keys so constantly? wouldnt you run out of mana?

what do you think would be the best way to set this up?

maybe have those macro's on CtrL1,2 and have them on dps key 1 in IsBoxer but send them to the pally?

There are lots of ways to do this.
    clickbars for the healer..
repeater regions for specific areas which your healer would have his/her maro...
    mouseover macros and keybinds...
ISB dps keys set to ATG for "non-melee" or "healer" groups...

And Im sure more ways yet even, which I dont know.
For now, I am using another set of keys. F1-F5. they are right above the wasd keys, so its convenient for me. I have heard of people using mouse buttons, and using gamepads for healing. Really, its up to you for what you are comfortable with. Since you seem to be starting out, I would do it the simplist way possible and then change it as you see you need.
