How reliable is the follow command?

You could set up a hotkey to break follow for the desired targets.. say everyone except the tank.
And on a second press of the same key, the tank breaks follow too.
Then you move the monk up a bit, press the key once and move more and press it again.

So your monk is still active, but with the tank next closest and the others a bit further back.
If your tank has a ranged attack... pull within range of that, and then feign death.
Switch to the Paladin, and pull the mobs if there are few enough you can handle it/them.

Then have the monk follow the paladin, to have it move into melee as you go and kill things with the party.
And switch to the monk, for the next mob when the first one is low enough that is will die soon.
Chain pulls, were something I liked about EQ camps.

Not sure if EQ has anything like Click to Move & Interact With Target.
I know it didn't seven or eight years ago.

If you have any kind of mechanic like that, have the monk IWT with the Paladin's target.

It probably won't be easy mode like that.

Regardless, once the Pally has threat, the mob should not move much.
Which makes positioning the monk, once the Pally has threat, fairly easy to do.
