I was at the point where i wasn't playing enough to justify 5x $15 per month, so i stopped it.
Cata was interesting the few weeks i played it, but after 6 years i lost interest.
Now if it became F2P I would log in my toons still sometimes, and upgrade those i have i think.
Then again, It's been 8 months since i quit, and i received last week a 7-day free voucher. still havent used it.

Would F2P really increase revenue though? I don't think getting people to try the game is their problem, or that they're facing an elastic enough demand to warrant a price drop. I would think a more logical approach would be to add game time to their cash shop purchases, and loading it with a lot more vanity items. price them In such a way that you end up paying more than 15$ a month for playtime, but you get some swag for your trouble. Gets more people in to the cash shop, and they maintain their subscription fees at the least, and draw in more revenue at best.
RMAH is probably also on the way, when they finish launching D3 and they find out what a cash cow it is.

If they go f2p they will for sure sell items for cash.
