I use 2 monitors, but when I play, I use 5 toons, Pidgin for chat, have a browser open and my media player. A second monitor for just two toons is useful if you already have the extra monitor, but one works just as well.

    Is it a problem when the 2 monitors have different resolutions (i have a 24" (2540x1440) and a 22" (1900x1080))?

With a static configuration (toon A on screen 1 and toon B on screen 2 all the time) there is no problem. If you want to switch the toons around between both screens it depends on the tool you intend to use.

You already said you were going to go with the single monitor route but, I thought I would mention this anyway
in case you eventually move to a two monitor setup. Using monitors at different resolutions forces Fermi nVidia
cards to never go into an idle state so they're always sucking power 24-7.

    I started a 4-Team-Boxing...:-)

A Warrior, Shammy, Druid and Warlock...

So i can level 4 Toons to Level 80 at the same time...

    Hopefully that works...;-)

    Default one computer/one screen

since you are only going to be playing two characters you don't even need that great of a PC or video card.
I would use one monitor because it's a pain to move your mouse to the alternate screen.... I doubt you will do that too much but still. Depending on the software you use it may be easier to use one monitor where you can instantly click on the other character and make it the largest part of the screen. ISBoxer and keyclone let you do that where there is a main sized part of the screen and smaller alternates with switching between them, I'm sure some of the other software does too.

I think this is great advice.

One so so computer can handle two wow clients, even with one monitor.
