Default 4x Shadow Priest are amazing

Dinged 85 on my shadow priests earlier this weekend. Levelled /transferred them to a new realm and got them a full crafted pvp suit + spire of scarlet pain (378 boe staff) ready for each.

Jumped straight into arena with a mate who has a resto shaman/ pally & druid. We tried out everything and not sure yet what works best for the team.

    But ... 4x ...
    fear on 23 second cd
    4x disarm on 1,5m cd
    4x dispersion on 1,25m cd
    4x fade on 15s cd
    4x mass dispel
    4x vampiric embrace
4x ranged silence on 45s cd (better than strangulate)
4x leap of faith on 1.5m cd
4x fear ward on 2m cd
    4x mana burn

Fear followed by Hymn of Hope and divine hymn is very strong, even if not for full duration and can be repeated.

I Basically opened with silence on healer, putting dots on 2 different targets. You see their health drop straight away.
Mind spike, mind spike, mind spike -> instant Mind Blast crit = this will kill anything.

On some occasions I experimented with mana burn on healer, but thus far it has not been really necessary.

Every game I think I saved my healers life twice with leap of faith. Simply amazing tool.

Took me 14 games to have my points for the week.

To me this feels like an improved version of a wrath shaman team.

I have a team of priests waiting to be leveled ( RaF ) I had leveled a team to mid 30s once, in WotLK, I remember them being a lot of fun in BGs.

How much did you pay for your staffs? I'm still farming BoE epics so I can get my mages some. ( they are 25-35K on my server ( Juljin, horde)
Currently 5 Boxing 5 Protection Paladins on Whisperwind Alliance
The Power of Five!!! ( short video )

Think about 150k total. I server transferred them along.

In PVE I love my shadow priest team as well, running with a DK tank they are pretty damn strong. Like you mentioned, some of their cooldowns are on quite outrageous timers.

The mind spikes and a mind blast + paralysis crit, death, death definitely forces a bubble, if you get someone that is asleep you just decapitated a player.

When the patch dropped that Mind Sear could be targeted on the tank, a lot of encounters got stupid easy. While its not the strongest AoE, its now at the full duration.

How do you have your character's glyphed?

Like this for now, still experimenting a bit with spec/glyphs. And on 2 toons have mass dispel glyph in favor of fade.

Note: I only play them in pvp, but I obviously see how stupidly easy mind sear is (even in a turtle in AV).

I plan on trying priests at some point, was my next plan =P

Paladin healer might be better... aura mastery = dead target.

    back when i 5 boxed I played a 4 disc priest + warrior team to 70.

It was a lot of fun but ultimately in PvE the damage wasn't really there. I basically zerg'd through any and all mechanics with the outrageous disc damage healing.

I see shadow priests not being a bad idea. However probably just not my play style for boxing. Shadow priests, much like warlocks, require some build up before they can kind of burst. Really gives away the chance for a quick zerg kill like shamans, death knights, paladins and warriors have. I haven't played priest since Cata so I'm not 100% up on the information but the way I remember was there being a build up before you could burst. Your build up time kind of gives away what you're about to do and allows people to pop cooldowns to survive the incoming damage.

Their damage is bursty though, and by that I mean once stuff does get rolling, the damage is pretty unpredictable. If you can catch someone off guard with your DoTs on them and other necessary debuffs, GG.

Just my 2 cents. I wish you luck though, I wouldn't mind leveling up my priests again.
    I triple box on Arthas(US-PvP) and Magtheridon(US-PvP)
I also have solo toons on Turalyon(my main raider) and Destromath

aura mastery + two priests able to do 3 mind spikes > mind blast = dead target.

Its really hard to CC 4 priests lol

you don't even necessarily need dots rolling on anyone else either.
