    Default Holy disconnects batman!

Starting seeing Cross Realm Zone action today and then the disconnects started. I am thinking it is cache related, much like the item linking exploits that arena teams used. Link something the other realm hasn't seen and bam! disconnected. I see a player from another realm (no item links, just normal visible players) and shortly after my team starts disconnecting. Sometimes one, sometimes two at a time.

I have wiped the cache folder and nothing changes. Wondering if any other boxers have encountered issues in CRZ's or if my problem is localized.

My server is Trollbane and I have only seen players from Kargath (so far).

About 50% of the time when I cross a CRZ boundary, at least one toon gets DC'd. 100% of the time the back seat rider in the X-53 gets booted off the rocket and falls to the ground on a parachute. 100% of the time, it's a super long phase transition and I lose follow on all my slaves.

If WoW were a single player game, it'd be a great system, but in groups or as a multiboxer, CRZ is a nightmare.

I did the ui reset just to make sure. Sitting in dalaran inn one toon kept dc'ing while I was setting things up.
This is going to make my guild leveling a little difficult. /shakefist

There is a spinning circle at top of the screen for when core game data is being downloaded. Sometimes its red, sometimes yellow, sometimes green, and usually not there. And for whatever reason its not the same on all toons, even though they all load the data from the same directory.

Just seems like my disconnects are much more often when zoning if the spinning circle is weirding out like that.

I have character video feeds across the top of the screen (2 on the left, 2 on the right) and I haven't seen the spinning circle thing at all. I guess seeing that would certainly help. I am hoping the Blizz network engineers get it smoothed out sooner, rather than later.

The circling weirding out might be due to all instances running from the same Data dir, I don't know if wow does any locking on those files to prevent concurrent writes, but I can easily imagine this being a problem, especially if it's not using any locking mechanism. Anyway, if you start the launcher, shouldn't it start downloading all game data that you haven't received yet? Or have they removed that function?

On a side not, as far as I know the disconnect-from-item-link-bug was due to the item not being in the server-side cache yet, your local client-side cache has nothing to do with it.

Disconnects have stopped for now. I did all of the following Reset ui (renamed wtf, delete cache folder), all addons updated for 5.0.4, reset router (most likely cause). There was a patch today but I don't know if it mattered. I played for about an hour today and did not see players from other realms. I think the router was at fault. Perhaps it required a reset after the 5.0.4 patch. Usually pretty reliable with the DD-WRT firmware.

I think the patch helped at least a little bit. I didn't get any disconnects, either, but I still got slaves kicked off the back of rockets.

slaves kicked off the back of rockets is a bug i reported it on beta a long time ago looks like there still working it out. They getting kicked off as the servers re-sync chars (why follows dies) and the mount in fact is no longer there so the char on it goes what the hell and falls to its death.

This is new tech and to be fair in WOTLK when they gave us phasing zones (this is kinda the same tech) was a nightmare at the start. When BG's got moved from Realms to BG groups there was 100's and 1000's off probs like this I Remember once i was in the av game and we could not kill anyone that was not from your realm but they could kill us there was a bug where my side could kill my poor mage before the game started.

Players forget the bad times. and when something does not work out the box its all crazy stuff.

i really want CRZ in the EU but still waiting
