I think that they'll only ever consider this if multiboxing somehow 'breaks' the game in a manner that they cannot fix, or if it becomes a problem in some way that we haven't foreseen. It would not surprise me if a number of Blizzard employees do it from time to time, I know that at least one or two of them dual-boxed (or more) in EQ. When they say that they consider multiboxing to be a legitimate play style, they are being 100% honest. They have gone out on a limb to explicitly state that it is okay, that the software that we use is okay, and that players who get thrashed by a multiboxer simply need to man up and learn to play.
I think that people make too much of that "we tolerate it for now" message that was posted some time back by a blue. That is just the result of Blizzard learning to never say "never" after they changed their stance on some issues. Sure, they could decide to forbid multiboxing at some point, but it would have to be for some kind of extraordinary circumstance. They would not simply say "well, we don't like it" or "multiboxers are acting like jackasses in the forum." I think that the worst that they'll ever do is to try to break any combos that work too well by limiting the way certain abilities stack (which they've done before with shaman totems, I believe) or the way they work (like they did with tremor totem).
I won't ever encourage anyone to antagonize other players unless provoked. But I don't think that this hurts us, just as I don't think that the many complainer topics hurts or helps. They do provide some entertainment, and occasionally the opportunity to aggravate some dolt who desperately deserves it.
