Thread: Try Rated BG.

  1. #1

    Default Try Rated BG.

I just did 4 Rated Battlegrounds on my feral, solo boxed. Joined a semi decent pug. Won 3 games, lost the last one. It's amazing how easy it is. If you didn't try it yet and you got full vicious, then I highly recommend you give it a shot. Per win you get like 400 Conquest points.

Just get some people on vent, 1 person to coordinate who has a clue and you'll have a pretty decent win chance. Especially in the weekend I imagine.

I didn't think it was this easy, hence posting this to make sure others get their welfare(Ilvl 384) aswell!

Some things did get changed though, EotS bases have flags to cap the bases for example. Only been in WSG, EotS and BoG.

One thing to take into account when judging rbg 's 'difficulty' is the amount of scrubs queuing up now for conquest points. Pve geared players you'd boot from a random heroic running around like headless chickens w/o a plan. As soon as they see it doesn't pay off and they keep getting trashed, those teams will stop pretty fast and it's back to normal.

But yeah now it's really worth it to farm conquest points that way.

You have to be super specific... telling people not to fight on roads, specifying where everyone should be and why, and be able to react to situations for people... doable (i got 5 wins as 4 boxing dk with 2 loss around 2400 mmr with my guild) but EoTS is a pain in the ass.

Then you should find more capable people

I need to find people who understand the limitations of boxing in rated BGs.

I've found eots one of the easiest to box.

You should be able to control 2 nodes yourself. That leaves 5 guys on the other side to just control 1. If the other team pushes hard to one side or the other, you go where the main fighting is and control those 2 points.

My favorite one is probably Gilneas, I usually just send 2-3 ppl to guard the close base(depending on where we spawn) then run the others around the water with path of frost to the far base where the other team spawns and it usually works quite well after we get the far base I run back and forth depending on where they need help. Try to get a group with 4 healers, healers are OP atm, I usually end up with 3. Think I'm 9wins5losses, not sure but 4 of the loses were due to me having 4k+ latency and not being able to follow myself to bases that were getting attacked, middle of nowhere internet sux . But yeah GL, they are pretty easy to multibox with dks especially base cap ones where you can just spam howling blast at the flag and kill everyone while they are trying to cap it LOL.

I'm definitely going for the 75 win achieve for the mount this season at least. Sadly the horde mount looks cooler but ally one is still decent. want to send the second 4 mounts i get to low lvl alts for bg grind lvling :P.

So, today we did 3 RBG's. We being Quiding x 4 on his DKs with his holydin from 5's. Me on my disc priest. And pugged 4 people. A DK, a rogue, a boomkin and a resto shaman. We queued up and started at 1600 rating. The RNG lord decided we should get 3 AB's in a row. So we did 3 AB's in a row. Started at 1600 MMr, 1700 MMR and after winning the third, we're probably at 1750-1800 MMR. It is EXTREMELY easy. When you can get carried by a good quadboxer, like Quid showed.

4 DK's being boxed, left 6 spots free. You need 3 bases to win. We had generally 1 healer and 1 dps defend each base and Quid would help out where needed. Worked flawlessly. Our team(or Quiding lol) dominated all 3 matches from the start. What I have to say though, we had 4 good pugs, that helps ofcourse. Everyone was very vocale about where what was incoming etc. Something that is required obviously in RBG, which made it a lot easier.

So I'm really curious about other people's experiences. How many people tried or didn't try it so far? And what MMR did you get up to?

I've been playing 2 boxers in an RBG, knowing that AB is going to be a PITA and probably a loss (unless we can get an immediate 4 cap and bottle them up at their start for a while). Even then, we're around 1200-1500 MMR. RBGs are fun regardless.

Here's a vid we found when we were around 1300 MMR from the opposing team's point of view.

Tried a few RBG's aswell with 4dks in AB it went very well, in flag carrier games it was much harder because of all of the CC, honestly I don't think i'll be able to do this with 4 dks
