    Default Professions for 40

    Have just finished up setting up my RAFfage and am now thinking about what I want to do in terms of professions as I aim for one of each class at 85 on all accounts.

    I already have all profs maxed on my main account so I don't really need any crafting profs to create gear for the teams and I don't need any more gatherers so I'm looking at the best way to maximise gold so I can waste it on Vials/Choppers/Mammoths for all.

    My first thought is to break down all the chars into potential teams and make sure I have an enchanter for each team I might run instances with, but no more than is needed. After that I'm figuring that all of them should be alchemists for the xmutes but after that I'm conflicted.

    If I take them all as JC's I have a boatload of chimera's per day for either the AH or to craft and AH. If I take them all as scribes I have a lot more chances per day at darkmoon cards that potentially will sell for more. If I take them all as tailors I have dreamcloth cd's to use, but I see this as the least profitable longterm of the options.

    All up, assuming I can get through all 40 chars to 80 in the RAF time (should be doable) then I will have:

    * 9 chanters (max)
    * 40 alchemists
    * 31 xxxx and here is where I need the advice.

    I will also likely not be trying to min-max any of these guys for raiding as I have that on my main 10 so not really worrying about getting best prof per class.

    If you can be bothered with setting up APM and reposting glyphs a couple of days. Restocking them, then Inscription is a pure goldmine. Once you know all glyphs, that'll beat quite a few alchemists profit wise.
    It ofcouse matters how many active people you have on your realm who will undercut you. So that's my tip, level one of those. Besides that it'll spare you loads of gold buying glyphs, since you can make them.

    Alchemists has always been the most popular proffesion amongst boxers, so that seems like a good pick, Not sure about the second one. Tailor is probably easy. JC could make more profit, slighty annoying to do the JC daily 8 times aswell.(if the item that's needed drops for the whole team, else you have to farm 40 of them)

    Not sure what this means. You have to buy herbs to mill to make cards to make decks, how does chance play a part?

    Its a tough call though; get one of each profession with those extra beyond that there are just to many things to consider (will dreamcloth get you more then chimera eyes?). You are doing right on the 9 and 40 but as to the 31 ....

    You can only base that on your servers current prices but those prices could change at any time .....

    Well don't need to buy, will just go and do a herbing run once a week to get them enough supplies once I need to, and meant that given can only generate one card per day per scribe, and not all of those cards will be useful/be what I need, I will have more chances per day to generate the cards I specifically need to complete any specific decks I am trying to create for sale.

    I'm 95% sure there is no cooldown on creating Darkmoon cards. There never was, didn't level my scribe to cata standards though. So the only gain in having more scribes is that you can learn new glyphs twice as fast. Since you can only learn 1 new major/prime and 1 minor glyph each day through the Research.

    There is no cooldown this is with 2 scribes (just so I can mill twice as fast)

    Hmmm, guess that makes the decision easy then to go with JC's. I was sure there was a cd on cards, guess I should have looked first lol

    I have 5 JCs and don't regret it for a second. Here is why:

    You can learn all the recipes 5x as fast. I did a break down analysis of all rare recipes a while back.

    http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=34412

    I assign each JC a different color or meta. Once I get all the recipes I want, I stockpile JC tokens until I am at a comfortable level (current I have 40 tokens per JC saved). That way when epic recipes hit or anything new is added, I can buy all the recipes at once and dominate the market. Any tokens over the my cap I use to buy chimera's eyes to sale on the AH.

    Moreover, you can still do the Dalaran daily. Now, you are probably going to ask why would you want to ever do the JC daily from last expansion? Well, the sell exceptionally well!

    I buy the Dragon's Eye and craft nightmare tears, which sell for 325g each! I can usually sell all 5, so that is a total of 1625g for 5 minutes of work. The Northrend epic guys also sell well, about 300g each. I use honor to buy them from the vendor, which isn't very much.

    The reasons they sell so well is there is almost no competition and the demand is still there for level 75-79 twinks.Moreover, there is no level restriction on these gems, whereas cata gems DO.

    Here is the biggest benefit - mass prospecting. You will be able to prospect 5x faster than anyone else. This is extremely useful for when you have a ton of ore to get through. I will usually spam trade to buy bulk ore at a ridiculously low price. I tend to buy 100-200 stacks at a time. Once I have the ore, I divided it amongst my JCs and mass prospect. It saves a lot of time.

    When I am finished prospecting, I will craft JC necklaces and rings from the useless green gems so I can disenchant them. For carnerlians, I buy heartblossom so I can transmute them into inferno rubies. For nightstones, zephyrites, and jaspers I save them so I can resale them on the AH for a inflated price when they are required that JC daily (always in stacks of 3).

    42 alchemists
    32 jcs
    1 of every other profession

    If i had to do it over again i'd do half the jcs and 1/2 tailors.

    Sam... how do you get both to mill at once without using automation addons?
