I have had really bad luck since last night. I am getting one epic per 1.5 - 2 hours. Mostly patterns too. I was wondering if anyone tried any packs deeper? Maybe they just nerfed the front mobs?

edit: this is after roughly double that rate and long sessions (6 hours a piece).

just keep on farming Flamewaker mobs.

sheep 5, kill 4, then invisbility on all toons, remark them, let them path once, repeat.. they have epics, at least on eu realms

Hate to say it but doing this ruins multiboxing for the rest of us. Blizzard nerfed the trash mob drops rates because of this. Not to mention they might even ban multiboxing in the future because of things like this.

    Wait...

You're basing the fact that the Firelands raid trash epic drop percentage was lowered strictly because of
multiboxers? What exactly is stopping a guild or 5 friends from doing the exact same thing to make money?

Using invis exploit to reset the trash is what is wrong. Farming the trash properly is fine, so yes, I AM basing this on the fact exploits were used! It's the same if 10 hunters or 10 rogues went in... resetting trash like that is not how the game is intended to be played, and they will deem it an exploit.

I don't mind people multiboxing, but play within the rules.

Using a spell in game as it is intended to be used is not an exploit. Raids aren't "intended" to be someplace people go to farm trash, they are created with the intent that people go in to kill bosses. Yet people have been trash farming raids since MC. People can just as easily reset trash by leaving one up and exiting the instance, just like they did when farming bug mounts, rep and rep items in AQ. If Invis was an "exploit" in this instance, they wouldn't have nerfed the drop rates, they would have added detect Invis to the mobs. If de-agro resets were exploits, they would have changed it so that the groups only respawn on an instance reset.

The change in drop rates were because the drop rates were too high, not because of reset mechanics and certainly not because of multiboxing. Bosses are where you're supposed to expect epics, not trash mobs. It's as simple as that.

I tried farming Firelands trash with my x4 DK + Priest.

I got the first Molten Lord to about 50% before wiping.

I tried with my Paladin + x4 Shaman group, but my Paladin tank got smashed hard.

So everyone is doing this with 5x arcane mages? I have a team of mages at level 60...perhaps it is time to level them up.

Though, by the time I finish leveling and get them geared (probably 1-2 months at the rate I can play) the trash BoEs won't be worth much.

Sorry I dont see it, in fact balanced groups can clear faster than I can boxing. I have to wait for invis cooldown to come back up and my images CD. Thats 4 mobs in 3 minutes + the time it takes to kill. Hardly exploiting.

    You're an idiot.

Multiboxing has been around in WoW since vanilla, and going strong.

The video makes me want to multibox/play wow again. Right up to when I realize how much work, leveling, and money I would need to put in. (Not to mention I'd need to get a new system)

They won't ban multiboxing over this because there are other ways of resetting trash packs, such as running out of the instance before killing the last mob in a pack. If Blizzard decided that farming an instance by resetting packs in this manner is a problem, then they'll find a way to keep people from resetting them, or take action if they see it happening (not easy to enforce, I figure). Resetting mob packs in order to more efficiently farm a zone is not a multiboxing issue, and thus multiboxing would not be the target of any corrective action.
