Thread: ISBoxer Error

    Default ISBoxer Error

When I got my new computer I moved my old computer out to the living room and hooked it up to my big screen TV.

I just now got around to putting in my older SSD drive with wow installed and updated all my interface addons.

I reinstalled Inner Space and ISboxer Toolkit.

Innerspace starts fine and it has WoW and Rift listed as the two game profiles.

When I start up ISBoxer I get the following message:

Inner Space Game Configuration was unable to be loaded from the selected Inner Space Folder. You will not be able to select a Game or Game Profile for a Character until ISBoxer Toolkit can read them from yhour Inner Space configuration. Please make sure that INner Space has your Game configured (you may need to select 'Add Game' from the Inner Space menu), then restart ISBoxer.

So, I go to my configuration and it has World of Warcraft and Rift as the two games. So they are in my configuration.

I then see if deleting them and adding them back in helps, but it does not - I still get the same message.

Anyone have any ideas? I wanted to play tonight on my big screen, but my have to go to the computer room instead.

I sent a message to Lax and spent some time in IRC chat for awhile, but it's Friday night here in the states and I'm sure people are busy.

I also tried deleting the Innerspace folder and reinstalled it on my C drive instead of my SSD drive and it gives the same messages.

    Thanks,

    Mal

Are you running both IS and ISBoxer as admin?

Yeah it's like I said in chat: When you first launch ISBoxer, it shows a path to Inner Space above the "welcome to ISBoxer" page. ISBoxer will be looking in that path for GameConfiguration.XML. If GameConfiguration.XML does not exist in that location, or is invalid XML, ISBoxer will give you that message.

So, first off, make sure ISBoxer has the right Inner Space folder in the box. If it doesn't, click the button to browse to the correct location.

And secondly, make sure GameConfiguration.XML exists in that folder. If you use Add Game and add something that wasn't there, and restart Inner Space and it is in the list again after restarting, then Inner Space is in fact storing GameConfiguration.XML. This would indicate that ISBoxer is pointing to the wrong Inner Space folder.

That would be fine if I could get ISBoxer to even start. It will NOT start. It goes immediately to that long paragraph I posted above and then if you click "ok" it goes to the windows message of "ISBoxer has stopped working, windows is looking for a solution."

The GameConfiguration.XML exists in the folder.

Running both as admin yes, but that doesn't change the error.

Okay - Lax helped me - it's a computer problem.
