If you release with no annoucement, you get less people.
If it takes you 5 years to make it, then if you mention it 3 years out, you can tell how many people want it by the people responding to the hype.
If you don't release when it is coming out exactly, you don't get other companies releasing products on top of your release and diminishing demand.
If you don't show all that it can do (no demo, no long gameplay trailer, etc), you don't get other companies copying what you can do and beating you to it.
If you don't like the game before it is released, why worry about it? Do you go around and say, "I don't like Olive Garden, why don't they just shut down?"
    Perfection.

    No more instant gratification please.
Blizz has proven its a crappy way of doing business.

I dont mind waiting for a good product. I dont mind one bit, if lucasfilm wants to be involved and help create a superb, well written, well produced, well displayed game. Who am I as Joe Schmo consumer to complain about it. Whens the last time someone could be heard saying "Star Wars movies suck"... uhh like next to not at all.

No, for me. Im excited that finally a game developer has decided to not buy into the whining and pleading of massess of nerdy teens, and instead build a good comeptitive product.

/trolling. Besides, even the act of making an anti hype thread, does what??? What are we talking about???

I haven't noticed much hype for SW:TOR, maybe because it's not on my attention radar. The last Star Wars game I enjoyed for more than 5 minutes was Tie Fighter. /shrug

You mean like people complained about Jar Jar? Or how the guy that played teenage Anakin was a bad actor? Or how the movies went from a darker, dirtier shade of sci-fi in episodes 4-6 to the shiny, sparkly, kid-targeted movies in episodes 1-3? Or how Samuel L. Jackson should never, ever have been cast as a Jedi?

Yeah, nobody has complained in the slightest about the newer movies.

    Bad choice of analogy, IMO.

Hmmm, I had totally forgotten and overlooked those. Very true. No argument. I think the general movies were good enough to have skipped over these blips. Sort of like a pink pony tail gnome.

God I severely dislike Samuel L Jackwaggon. R2D2 can "out-act" him. Hell, his counter to being a hero is "snakes... on a plane" @@
