Account Hacked

I tried logging in this morning and found that my main Battlenet account had been hacked.

The Authenticator had been removed off of this account as I'm in the process of upgrading my iPhone to another one, so i didn't want a lockout of a different authenticator serial number on the new phone causing issues

the recovery ticket has been sent in to Blizzard as my locks and priest are standing freezing and naked in Oggrimar.

they didn't get to the main account with my mage (and all the money on) thankfully.

Exposure to the Guild Bank is minimal - as the toons affected had crap access - but you might want to check if someone has stolen some prized recipies.

its just a pita that i have to got through the hassle of chasing up recovery on 14 characters items and money.

We have finished our investigation and we found no evidence that your account is compromised. We have verified that there wasn't any 3rd party access to your account. We have checked your characters and there are no missing items or gold loss.

Who do they employ to check the characters?? Stevie Wonder??

It seems nothing from guild bank is gone btw, not that we have anything worth anything there

Ilillli i wonted to find you about this you was hacked about 1 to 2 am they loggged in your warlocks priest and mage before the GM stoped them

I have opened a ticket as soon as i worked it out

The GM said they email you about this.

i can only imagine the annoyance of the hacker to have to log in to all your toons one at a time, just to find out that they have no money, no items and level 1 gear. How many do you have by now? 60?

Maybe not such a bad idea to have your bank-alt with a less obvious name somewhere hidden between all the alts. So not call it something with "bank" in it and don't have it located on account #1 in slot #1.

Most of that is scripted / automated. It's not always a person logging in to your toons.

This probably saved a lot of grief.

I have the accounts back, but 6 characters on GB where raided, and 8 on Aggramar.

I don't have a bank character on GB as such, I just spread the money across the toons as required. However I do have a very empty guildbank on Aggramar. (missing about100k and mats)

As for your question Cyr about number of toons... I'm probably looking at around 60 toons on GB and 20 on Aggramar

I have got all of the money and items back as far as i can tell (which is quite hard when you consider the amount of mats i have on each character)
