Thread: melee advice?

  1. #1

    Default melee advice?

    ive been multiboxing 3 shaman to get them to 85 (currently 1 at 85) anyway i find myself being cut down by melee, frost dks, and warriors with Bladestorm inpaticular, whats the best way you guys have found to deal with pesky melee, i did use to use Fire nova,

    would magma totem and fire nova be the best bet?

    Reroll warriors or dks /endthread.

    Come back in 4.2 and hope the changes were decent.

    Combine shocks and fire totem/nova for offense with glyphed stoneclaw, healing and possibly earthbind totem kiting. You need a good chuck of resilience though, to stand a chance.

    I think boxing melee is more forgiving to mistakes for boxers and overall easier to play in pvp. Boxing casters its all about kiting or burst down abilities and both are difficult to do nowadays will all the gap closers and burst is almost non existent against an enemy that has 4k resilience.

    Now, I'm an utter complete noob, so my advice might not be worth much, but I use the enchantment shamen in BGs(trying to gear them up to do arenas next season, and get more practice). I am assuming you're using elemental not enchantment shamen, why not try respec or dual spec to enchantment? As I've noticed what Fat Tire said about spell pvp is about moving a lot and keeping distance.

    I've deal with warriors and dks like littleburst suggests. I first drop the stoneclaw totem, then earth shock followed by frost shock. After that I use hex to get a breather to heal if I need it. I'm not saying it works all the time, but it works out ok. Granted if I have to deal with 2 or more melees it's a bit more of a crap shoot. Overall I feel I am getting the hang of it in BGs atleast. This works whether I am single or multiboxing, granted if I am in a 3vs1 I rarely have to heal and I might skip frostnova, as I can burn down one fast enough by popping all cooldowns. Granted against people who know how to play and with full vicious gear I don't do too well. It seems that I'm more able to handle the guys who rolled DKs and Warriors since they were so overpowered, and haven't yet gotten to gear them all that well.

    IWT + click to move enabled makes you interact with your target. So if you target isn't in melee range you run to the target. So as caster you don't want that in your macro's, since it would interrupt your cast. But it's definitely usefull to have on a seperate keybind for IWT specific. You'll need to follow up the IWT with a backpeddle to make you stop running to the target and start a new cast again.

    Personally, I had 2 IWT keys, 1 for the slaves and 1 for the maincharacter. Since I mostly "aimed" with my mouse on the maincharacter anyway. But sometimes when the battle is a complete chaos it can be usefull. Or when you're to lazy to run those 20y to a banker/questgiver etc

    Shift W = IWT slaves
    Ctrl W = IWT main
    S = move back (default)

    Sorry this bothers me like "Rouge," it's "enhancement." They aren't enchanting anything =P

    Hahaha. I've always said it was Enhancement, but then someone corrected me and said it was enchantment, and lazy as I am I don't bother looking it up. Turns out I was right all along(actually did check this time).
