Default Turn off certain Addons when loading ISboxer?

Is there a way to set ISboxer to turn off certain addons when I load up a team? I 5 box on one comp, and its not the best in the world for it, and if I have my auctioning addons etc loaded for every toon, it tends to lag up.

You can use different sets of enabled addons for boxing vs solo, sure. You can set up a Virtual File called Addons.txt, assign it to each of your Characters. You don't need several different filenames for this, you can virtualize it as the same name for all of your guys, like "Addons-isboxer.txt"

Then you can just use the Addons menu like normal at char select to turn different ones on/off, and the virtual file will keep it separated when you're using ISBoxer. enjoy

    Hey Lax,

Is it possible that you can add another option in the Virtual File Wizard?

Right now it has a drop down of supported games and their settings file. Maybe add another option such as "advanced" or a drop down choice of "other"? Then we are given a dialog to ask what file name we want to virtualize (and if you are really feeling frisky, a template of some sort of how we want to name each individual instance of it. Think of naming a mp3 file in Windows Media Player or iTunes where it is <track number><separator><song title>)
Then continue on to character selection afterward.

    Thanks

You're right, the Virtual File Wizard is a bit lacking in that regard. I will add it to my list of things to do for ISBoxer 39

WoW did not know this was possible. Pretty damn cool when you cycle through different characters and you have to switch addons.

Alright, here's everyone's chance to point at laugh at Fenril (as if this doesn't happen enough on IRC already)
but, why can't you manually enable/disable addons using WoW's in game system?

For instance, my Druid team... has Druid addons. Then, when I select a Death Knight on the character selection
screen and log into the game... those Druid addons are disabled and my Death Knight addons are enabled
because that's the way I've got the in game system setup... without the help of ISBoxer virtualization.
Enabled/Disabled addons are saved on a per character basis... it's magical, really.

So, if someone can provide me with an example or two on why it is necessary to virtualize this file:
    Code:
    ...\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\AccountName\Server\CharacterName\AddOns.txt
Or perhaps I'm missing the entire point of this thread.

Fenril, I think the point is that the OP wants to load differing sets of addons depending on the character set. So lets say my Drood1 is my leatherworker and doing auctioning, he is dual specced into resto and feral.

In my TSing character set I want to enable auctioneer, TSM, Lil'Sparky, etc., when he is in the PvP set, I want gladius, recount, etc. to load, but not auctioneer, TSM, Lil'Sparky., when loading in my PvE set HealBot should be loaded, but not recount, TSM, Auctioneer, etc.

The current and builtin functionality allows the user to enable/disable addons based on characters, not "use".

It's actually a neat idea..... Maybe I should try something like this to see if my fps improve....

*shrug* I'm in the same boat as Fenril. I enabled certain addons by default based on the ingame character selection and used Addon Control Panel to create and swap addon sets when I needed to "fine tune" what addons I was using based on what I was doing, such as killing Gathermate, TomQuest and SilverDragon when I was just going to dungeon hop in the LFG, or turning off things like DBM, Omen and Recount if I was going to be questing.
