Is anybody up to speed with jump clones? Would love to make one close by and jump over now and then. Do you need an 8 standing with the faction you want to create one? Or is this different in 0.0 or low sec? Never used one myself, so hmm . Trained the skill to use them to rankish 2 i think, now how to use them.

This thread is just making me drool, when I played Eve, I enjoyed wasting hours away, shooting 'roids and making small profits. What put me off was the damned rats that would constantly own my ass

So, question time:

1. I'm currently running 5xWoW clients on a single machine, what's the group size in Eve?
2. Could I run 5 clients and get away with it? Would I need to?
3. Could a single party ofr 5 be effective is a mining group, while also being able to defend themselves from rats?
4. just how easy is it to box, do you use Keyclone or something like it, or is it a case of alt-tabbing windows?
5. Kinda greedy question. I know you can eventually use Isk to pay for your game time, would it be possible to have a mining group pay for itself and then still make insane amounts of Isk, just from mining?

1. There's no real group size -you make fleets. I I'm not sure what the fleet cap is, but you couldn't afford to box it!
2. I believe you could - I run 5 wow's on 1 machine, and ran 3 Eves at the same time with no issue - as far as would you want to? Not sure. I could see running 3-4...
3. Yes. The catch here is rats won't be your issue. Other players will be your issue.
4. The (lack of) keyboard bindings in eve make using something like Keyclone a null point - you could, but I don't see where you'd get any benefit. There are no macros, it's almost 100% mouse based. If you want to get somewhere - right click on it, set waypoint/destination. If yiou want to go to something in the same system youre in, right click, warp to 0km/5/10/20/etc. There's also no assist that I'm aware of.
5. I'm sure you could if you worked on it, get in a corp that has a decided presence in 0.0 space and you could rake in the cash - personally I never payed for the game with ISK, I enjoyed running missions - good cash there if you learn the market. Just stay the fuck away from Jita.

well,
A) you need a ship (domi is the standard) to draw aggro from the rats for your miners when running in 0.0. Might want to start figuring out which char is going to be skilled for that.
B) in 0.0 or lowsec -- watch local and run at the sigt of neutrals or hostiles. Really. This is the most important thing you can do, and it will protect you against hostile players.
And grats to OP! It gets much easier with 3 minute timers! 1 minute timers are so frantic, you'll never even be able to imagine how you did it!
There are some important keybindings, for F1-F8, ctrl F1-F8, and alt F1-F8 for activating modules on the top, middle and lower bars, respectively. I used this to handle multiple combat roles pretty well.
