If it's going to be interruptible it could potentially lockout other freeze spells ... even with cast time HC is still a very strong CC. The current way is a bit too retarded imo (same for mages and instant rof).

If interrupting it locks out the Frost school, I'd probably just omit it entirely from the rotation.
That would be no Howling Blast or Obliterate, which are the main attacks in the two rotations; for that matter, that is also no Death Strikes.

DK Runes aren't really schools of magic, so I don't see them locking a rune out based on the interrupt.

Anyone running 8 hunters? I wonder what they mean by "unique taming challenge"? They haven't post any changes to taming.

I'm guessing they will have abilities that make taming more complicated than "lay trap, cast tame", such as charge, stun, fears or silences. Possibly even immune to frost trap, so you'd need to be more creative and make use of things like wing clip or tamable only after beaten to submission. *shrug* Or they could just mean they come with lots of friends.

8 new rare tamable beasts have been added, each of which provides a unique taming challenge. Will you be the first hunter to tame Deth'tilac, the rarest and most powerful of them all? Players will need to progress through the Hyjal Regrowth and Molten Front daily questing areas in order to unlock access to the full gamut of taming challenges.

Challenge except blizzard I now know what I'm doing once I get set back up.. Only two question remain to RAfF or not to RAF and Horde or Alliance.

Not sure why but this and a few other tid bits from the ptr rekindled my desire to play a hunter and this time I'll do it in spades. Anyone else excited about this new patch?

The warrior nerf made me sad.

Recklessness and Deadly Calm can no longer be used at the same time. One cannot be used while the other is active, but using one does not put the other on its full cooldown.
Two-Handed Weapon Specialization weapon damage increase has been lowered to 12%, down from 20%.


I would bet money on blizzard adding a longer cooldown on pillar of frost also either this patch or down the line. Of course they could just lengthen the cd of ams or remove it and kill off dks in pvp entirely. Even make ams like the new rogue clos, that would still hurt.

So I see they're messing with bear damage... looks like bumping the base damage but reducing the scaling... is this an overall nerf? a nerf only to uber geared bears? Anybody know?

I just started working in a beardruid + 3 warrior + resto shaman group, lets see if we can throw some resto shaman nerfs into the patch too to make me feel super good about the group =P

World of Warcraft 64-bit client soon?

According to the latest changes in the interface files of the Patch 4.2 PTR client, it seems that Blizzard is finally getting ready to release a 64-bit version of the WoW client.


And as I write this news post I can already see the confused look in your eye: "Wait? What? Who cares?". Well, this change means two things:

• People with 64-bit Operating Systems (= anyone with more than 3gb of Memory, most likely) will see a slight increase in performance.
• People who regularly experiences crashes when World of Warcraft uses too much memory will finally be able to play WoW without crashing every x hours/minutes. (People playing in super high resolution, or with a boatload of addons)

Of course nothing is official yet, but there's a glimmer of hope for the increasing number of people with 64-bit systems. However, I'd like to point out that we're only seeing a couple of strings in .lua files and not real changes so I wouldn't expect it for Patch 4.2.

So what u guys think about this is it going to help or not?? and this is probey the wrong topic as its probey not going to make 4.2.

Help with what? Blizzard enabled the Large Address Aware flag with 4.1 so no one should be running out of memory.
