That is one of the best posts I've ever read about PvP servers. I think it bears a good reading every now and then. While not everything is entirely applicable to WoW PvP compared to EQ2, the gist is the same I think.

As he so eloquently puts it, we roll on PvP servers so that we're not as safe. It just takes a different mind set. Remember though, you lose xp when you die in EQ2 pvp... And you gain it when you kill others.

So, since I've reached level 62+, the only time I get ganked, are by multiple level 70s. If it's a single 70, they run away... especially since I reached level 66.

So the conclusion... most people on PVP servers gank if they know they have a high advantage... tonight's leveling, I /waved to about 4-5 hordes, who were happy that I did... then 3 70's flew in and ganked away... twice. Don't know if there will be more because I'm still a ghost and haven't rezed yet. :sleeping:

So... slowly... with every group of 70s that gank me and camp me... I'm get closer to just killing all REDS. :thumbsup:

- You're a male dwarf that uses /dance /lol too much.
- You've ganked me while levelling.
- You've forced me to kill you too many times.
- Your guild contains too many of the above.

I am composing a "ganked me while leveling" list, and this made me laugh. The male night elf hunter haterism is wonderful too, don't need many of them around.

It is my first group of four that I'm leveling. That said, I do get a giggle out of 'one' shotting equal and higher levels as me. I would generally stay defensive because it really does slow down leveling to get into a PvP fiasco but, on Cho'gall at least, horde 70s always seem to be very willing to protect their lowbies.

If there's someone 5 or fewer levels higher than me at my questing area, I'll kill them and try to finish the quest ASAP (before 70s arrive). I really do detest the corpse camping by 70s. It's always some warlock in all netherweave crafted or rogue with freshly 70 gear who wants to stroke his epeen. grr, /endQQ.

But if you're looking for some pvp fun and to get better at is as you level, I certainly think it is good to get yourself into some fights so you can learn what your weaknesses are, especially with your setup. Look for groups of opposition your own level and initiate some combat.

Any group of 3 or more red I will attack first.

One or two players keeping to themselves I'll leave alone. Doesn't take any skill to kill somebody 1 v 5.

My views are currently in transition. > I was all for the live and let live- mess with me- you die- philosophy. Then I was getting repeatedly jumped for over an hour by ?? people in groups while trying to make it up to SM. I had some controls screwed up from updating addons and getting some macros wiped out (wtf?) so this was adding alot to my frustration. Mostly, I've been able to cope with the nature of a PvP server- and even /yawn at the high levels that need more entertainment. I was getting pretty upset today though (maybe it was teh caffeine) so I might soon have a policy of 'Its red, its dead, and then I will hurt it some more.' I guess I'm vindictive like that. I don't think I'm vengeful enough to make out a mental KoS list thought- I never remember names.

The only thing that sucks with this game is that I cant kill alliance players. Alot of them are too stupid to deserve to live, but I can't do anything about it. I hate it =|

You could always get another account and reroll the opposite faction...

If I get jumped by an officer of a small guild repeatedly, I put the entire guild in KOS. Ashenvale... Felwood... yep, gank all the lowbies. :thumbsup:

From Hellfire Peninsula to Blade's Edge I was never corpse camped. I got killed by a 70 once or twice but I made over 2k honor in just kills getting to 69 with my Shammies, where I am presently. As soon as I hit Netherstorm though... The gankage began. Every red name was KoS and I was able to push my way through it with only getting chain CC'd for a total of 1.5 hours.

The moral? As I said earlier, you have to treat every red name as an oppurtunist. They're just waiting until they think they have enough of an advantage to win.

Kill on sight. If its red, it dies. Sorry, but if you dont' like it, get off the PvP server.

tho these days they dont even try get their buddies for assist! ;(
