    Default [EVE] Multiboxing Invitational Tournament

This is still in the planning stages, so opinions and ideas are welcome from all:

    EVE Multiboxing Invitational Tournament 1.0

    Basic Rules

    1. 3v3 Teams
    2. All ships are T1 Standard Frigs
    3. All modules are T1 Tech Level 1 (no named modules)
    4. Location would be CTR's wormhole (to avoid the Popo and other pesky interruptions), so entrance would be somewhere in hisec.
    5. Some sort of entry fee (5 million isk?) with either a winner take all or some sort of 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winnings (depending on the number of entries).
    6. Multiboxers only (no single boxers joining a multiboxer either, you must control all 3 ships).
    7. Time and date is variable, but based on the number of invaders we see during the weekends a weekday would be a better time to plan it.
    8. Contestants will be required to post a short write up after the tournament about both the thoughts behind their setup, problems they have, strengths they notice, and how everything actually worked out for them in the tournament. This is to foster improvement in pvp multiboxing for everyone in EVE.

    ADDED RULES: SET A

    9. To recreate normal pvp conditions the attacking group will be required to prevent at least 1 ship from the defending group from being able to warp away. This is to prevent a completely long range engagement where either player could just run away with no losses. This means every player will be required to have at least one tackler ship on his team of ships. Losing the tackler during the fight negates this requirement for the remainder of that particular fight.
    10. Any player that warps one or more of his ships away from the fight automatically forfeits that round, even if they are ahead in kills. A fast alpha strike and run IS a viable strategy normally, but we are trying to expand our abilities here.
    11. Attacking group and defending group will be determined randomly (I'll probably flip a coin). Being that every player will be required to have a tackler there is no ship setup bias as to whether you are an attacker or defender, so everyone is on equal footing.
    12. No rigs
    13. No drones other than light combat drones
    14. Repeating for effect: NO NAMED MODULES (i.e. ONLY standard missile launcher 1, not arbalest or malkuth missile launcher, etc).

    General thoughts:

First off, why 3v3? Easier entrance requirements pretty much. Not everyone has or wants 5 accounts (or more).

Why T1 Frigs? Low cost so people won't be stressing when their ships go BOOM and lots of options for different styles of playing.

Why T1 and Meta 1 modules? Mostly cost, but also to keep it from being a "I threw more money at my setup than you did and won because of it". Yes, it will make some fits harder...live with it

Location? This is variable, but I'd like people to be able to use their own fleet broadcasting, so we cant just make one big fleet and shoot at each other in hisec. If anyone has a good idea with this I'm all ears.

Entry fee? This is a variable amount, but walking away with some "prize" is always nice (other than the bragging rights of course). This fee won't be super high in any event.

Why only multiboxers? Because I want to see improvements in pvp multiboxing in EVE. I want people to feel like they have an idea of what multiboxing pvp is (even if you get your ass kicked in a fight, knowing that you did your best versus the 12 T3 Tengu's will make you feel better. Nothing worse than freaking out and fumbling all over your keyboard when you could have at least killed some or escaped with minimal losses).

Time and Date? All variable. Weekend is doable if someone gives a better idea for a location.

Post game write-up? This is a nonnegotiable part of the event. You will benefit by getting feedback about your plans/tactics and your readers will benefit by getting different angles on how it all went down. Everyone will get a chance to see the winner's tactics and planning and the winner will see what the competition was thinking too. Think of this like the PVP section of the forums here where people share ideas and tactics. Anyone who skips the post game write-up will not be eligible to join in any future events!!

    Thoughts? Ideas? Speak up!

I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A bird will fall frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself.

I'd be up for this mate, you know how I panice when out in the WH and something unexpected occurs lol. Timing is going to be the hardest part for me now, work is getting very busy so may not be able to multibox during the week.

But if we get a set date and time, I'm sure I could arrange to be home (Sorry, can't work today. Major eve boxing tournament )

    Let's see some more interest....

And I promise to only use 3 accounts and not 12 stealth bombers for a super gank

Stealth Bombers aren't T1 Frigs anyway

Yeah, but when its a super gank, who's going to notice lol

I'm in! Mainly because no matter how poorly I do, I know I'll learn something from the experience.

That's my reasoning too, and I know I'll do quite poorly due to very little frigate skills and no PvP experience at all

i'm in also! time to start training for something other than mining

Let them hate, as long as they fear.

I'm in too, got 3 Caldari pilots and a bunch of kestrels ready to go. Only issue may be one of timing of the event as I'm not always available.

I'll do my best to accommodate everyone's schedules so that the max amount of people can participate. Still working on some particulars and trying to find a good way to hold it in hisec without the usual issues.

Added more rules to original post to flesh out the plan.
